Could be, peks.
Mex, I just saw that.
Disgrace not to take Fernando Llorente over that useless sack of crap
I have to come here and do this:
IOAG
That was impressive.
DJ said the Dutch were shîte as they'd lose to Spain and Chile and draw with Australia.
The Scousers don't seem too happy.
you know what the problem with spain is ??
to many farza players
You may be wondering how Diego Costa scored 36 goals last season but the big question is HOW DREADFUL REALLY WERE SPAIN AFTER TAKING THE LEAD??!!! Just kept giving the ball away, it was just shocking to watch! The 2nd goal came after they had gave the ball away several times from their own throw-ins.
Xavi was terrible tonight yet Del Boy decided to take off Alonso who was having a great game?
yer...the 2nd half was the worst i have ever seen a spain team play in my lifetime
xavi played quite well in the first half
second half he played like a granddad
That's kind of true. Though I'm not his biggest fan it's no coincidence that without Alonso in the midfield Spain have been torn apart by the pace of Brazil and Netherlands.
Bad luck, peks.
Even 1st half Peks, Alonso was better than Xavi. If there was a coach to turn things around though, it is Del Boy. There is one calm head on those old shoulders!
Xavi stunk. Silva stunk. Azpulcueta (whom i rate) stunk and should be replaced by Caravajal. Pique? If he were in Aston Villa, he'd be terrible. Without Puyol to whisper in his year, his defensive skills are shambolic. Still, he is a cultured defender. Casillas? Well, Mourinho and Ancelotti dropping him seems valid.
Iniesta was one of Spain's better players though he started being a tad selfish a little too much with his silly dribbles.
del boy needs to realise the tiki-taka system played imperfectly is v v vulnerable to counter attacks and quick direct play by top teams
bayern v madrid is a prime example of this
alot of the strengths (such as trying to pin the opposition high up the pitch) becomes a massive weakness
I know this might be scapegoating but can it be said that Spain were poor and couldn't hold the ball tonight due to having a poor outlet upfront? Diego Costa was really a black sheep in that Spain team especially in the 1st half! And that headbutt to Indi? What a bloody idiot!
Of course Spain could shock us still and win the damn thing but on tonight's showing, meh.
Xavi - whom many here had sever misgivings about turning up for one last hooray- is the key and i don't think he can do a Zidane 2006.
Del B's blind loyalty to the bulk of his team might prove his undoing.
Peks, that's true. It's the lack of pressing that makes it so vulnerable.
Going to be interesting to see how things go against Chile. They attack with arguably more pace in attack than the Dutch do.
If Spain aren't careful they could be out after that game.
yer i agree wummy

he gave the ball away alot when he was on the pitch, as i knew he would

Spot on! When it is poorly executed, you are likely to to get torn apart! They just kept giving the ball away and with that high line, you can't blame the Spanish defenders individually. It is like the Arsenal game at Anfield last season. We played a high line and kept giving the ball away in the middle of the pitch and we were destroyed!
Wump, yeah I think so. I think Del boy might stick Cesc up top vs Chile.
I actually thought Costa was ok. I mean his runs were bloody fantastic but he could not finish.
Also, it was the system that was foreign to both Spain and Costa. Xavi and co are not used to punting the ball up front, they are more comfortable with a guy holding the ball, bringing them to play, pinging between themselves.
Costa? He will fit in well at Chelsea under the dark Lord Mourinho. He is bound to get a few 3-game bans next season.
