Do you feel like me that Utd need to move forward by replacing Rooney with a younger CF? I mean he has already peaked and just like in the English set up, having to play him is proving a problem for the manager setting up his team.

Wump, I've felt that about Rooney for years mate.

But not so much replacing him with a younger cf, but with a natural playmaker.

Now we have one of the very best in Mata I see no reason to keep Rooney, despite him still being a very good player for us.

I just want our style of play to evolve. And while this can improve under Van Gaal and with new players, his diminishing technique will still continue to hold us back in this regard.

I agree but I was actually mentioning a younger CF because I don't believe RVP will have a full season again and he is a bit old isn't he?

Well yeah in that case maybe. Though I'm really excited about James Wilson.

So perhaps a compromise would be for Rooney to replace RVP as the main cf for a couple of years until he can step up, if he can at all.

That way Rooney won't be as involved in the build up play and can concentrate on getting in the box and scoring goals, which is his best attribute now, and Mata can be our number 10.

This was what many on the United board have wanted, and expect, to see since we signed Mata. It was thought RVP would go in the summer.

LVG throws a spanner in the works because he loves RVP.

im not really the type to drop a big time name and say hes the one for me. my imagination is a big weakness.

i can give my opinion on a player strongly linked with my team and with diego costa, its negative. i dont want him!
