I'd say Madrid belongs to Atleti now

We're just renting them a small corner of our European territory, innit?

casillas

he's only 33...still primetime for most keepers

but Mou and Carlo dropped him for a good reason...this became apparent in the CL final and the WC

can he get back his form and confidence?
He's a new dad now, so might have other priorities

A club like madrid cant wait around whilst he re-discovers his form of old (if that ever happens)

this summer madrid need to find a back up keeper for diego lopez imo

Casillas had a great season and two bad matches.

posted on 4/7/14

his obviously lack of confidence and poor decision making at the WC was shocking imo

in hindsight Del Boy should have dropped him after the Holland game

I think he would have if De Gea hadn't had that injury.

yer i think you're right about that

d lopez should retain the number one goalie spot at madrid next season..he's deserved it for his performances the past 2 seasons

I'm not particularly concerned about the GK issue tbh, I think we've spent too much time and energy worrying about something that really isn't that serious an issue.
We won both competitions Casillas played last season and came close in the league with Lopez. I think neither were crucial in the outcomes and that both are more than adequate. I'm not really bothered which one starts or whether one or both stay or leave providing the replacement(s) is(are) suitable enough.

It seems Neymar got a fractured vertebra. Didn't expect anything nearly as bad as that, hope he gets well soon. I was starting to really dislike the guy for his over-exaggerated theatrics, but I do enjoy watching him play and wouldn't wish an injury like that on anyone tbh.

Aye, IOAG...He is a talent and wish the lad speedy recovery.

His 'clever play', originating in his hometown but sharpened in Spain does get my goat.

I always find it funny when people mention Hazard in the same breathe as Messi and Ronaldo. A lot of potential but he is nowhere near those two greats!

Witsel is a tidy player though. He has pretty good in this tournament. Would be a great fit for this Arsenal team.

Di Stefano was my Dad's favourite player, I think he was at the testimonial the week after we won the European Cup.

Total legend of a man, so hope he pulls through. It's always been sad how people forget about him when talking of football greats.

Wummy, Hazard has been poor this World Cup.

Probably you are listening to guys that are too young like me to remember him. I don't like to talk about players I never watched.

"Wummy, Hazard has been poor this World Cup."

Very poor indeed! Hasn't provided what Belgium expected from him in the final third. If he showed up today, Belgium would have won but everyone else showed up but him.

Di Stefano was my dad's favourite too, more logical as he was a Madrid fan though. Here in Spain he's always mentioned when talking of the greats. As good at that 1950s side might have been, according to all accounts Di Stefano was the man that made the biggest difference.

Belgium seemed to have stage fright earlier today. Argentina handled the game so much better.

Also, loved Belgium's plan B. Is that what PL fans always accused Barça of lacking?

yer belgium were poor

and to be honest how many of the teams in this WC match up to the spain side of 2008-2012 ?

none of them are even close

hoping for a holland world cup win.

i hate the other 3 teams. not that holland are likeable or anything. its also would be nice them winning for once.

I am hoping no one wins the damn thing and they crown the founders of football -England ö champions!
