Don't get me wrong dunc, I really like Anderson (mainly because of the faces he was pulling at Szesney (sp.) in the 8-2) but is he really in the best shape of his career.
He still looked rather rotund on Saturday when he came on. I for one hope he proves people wrong. I like how direct he is.
I doubt many United supporter on here watched more than 3 or 4 United games last season but still have plenty to say

I think most of us realise that you can't please all the people all the time and that eventually only how they perform for United will be the proof in the pudding.
Had there been a website like this in 2001 and Veron been coming in everyone would be jizzing in their pants but then he wasn't quite the success story.
I remember when Carrick came in people were distinctly underwhelmed and he has been a great success.
I just wish we lived in a world where people just waited and saw before condemning players who they have barely watched in their lives and that's before even taking into account how a lot of players actually improve when in teams who have better players.
Thank fook the likes of you, Ji, Darren, Dunk, Red Misty, Mex and others have brains on this forum.

You just have to compare the beastly Toure of Man City to the Barcelona Toure in the CL to see what a difference it makes.
They're world apart in the CL in terms of their performances in midfield. And that's down to the mentality and tactics of those teams.
Even Liverpool, without possessing the most gifted of midfields, are very good at dominating possession and the midfield. That's because it's in their ethos to do so. Same with Arsenal - who have dominated possession against City's superior midfield.
For the last facking time, Anderson has a large bottom, this makes clothes look weird on him.
He is not fat

Haha. He certainly got back.
We had such a weird style of play on Saturday with our front four pressing the Swansea defence in a way unseen under Sir Alex of the last few years and our defence being so deep.
It was 'all or nothing' style play where we needed to take our chances to make that gamble pay.
Wholly depressing and for those of us living in the real world we can get excited about the likes of Fellaini who will bring a bit of bite into the midfield and unsettle passing teams while actually shocking people with his.... dum dum dummmm, skill!
--------
Do you have it in your mind that Fellaini is some defensive beast in midfield who is constantly breaking play up? Because that is not the case from what I have seen... the odd elbow, and losing his temper doesn't turn him into a makelele, ramires, maschrano type midfielder.
-------------
I have to agree with ron, I have read many of robb's comment regarding fellani. Fellani is not a genius def mid. From the very, very, very little I have seen of capoue, wanyama, and strootman I will go as far as to say fellani is not better than any of them as a cm.

i was gonna abuse you until i saw my name on there
I watched Fellaini play in DM against a very in form Arsenal side last May at the Emirates and he snuffed out every single bit of danger before passing the ball brilliantly time after time to Barkley.
Now imagine him doing that to Welbeck/Kagawa/Rooney?
i was gonna abuse you until i saw my name on there

I also want to put RBW on there but after 2 years on this site he still scares me
People thinking we are gonna dominate possession against top sides with Rooney dropping off into midfield is the funniest thing.

i dont think Fellaini looks like a utd player ( in terms of appearance) , and as daft as that sounds i think it genuinely puts a lot of people off.
people just cant vision a gangly afro headed cm player at utd despite his ability.

Someone actually still was suggesting this yesterday. I have no idea what they are smoking!
Dark and AdNan, trust me, you come under my 'others' column where I said 'and others'.

Rooney is a good player but people really fail to recognise the effect on the midfield that he has. Just because he's labelled as a striker they seem to think it's all the midfields fault, but this is far from the truth.
Not to say that the two deeper midfielders aren't a problem, but it runs deeper than that. Rooney and the tactics we play are also part of the problem.
