Yeah but you're asking a group of westerners. If you spoke to one of the many tribes who rely on a communist style society it'd be different.

"You found 20 tubers, you neighbour found 2, do you hoard your food or put it in the communal pot?"

They would share it. This shows that institutions can shape the way you act. The fact that there are groups out there who do share everything they produce shows that humans aren't naturally capitalist. It shows that we can be moulded by the very society we're part of.

Because if humans were naturally capitalist, then these tribes wouldn't exist*

This proves that we basically enter the world a blank slate, and depending on how we're brought up we can be anything we like - be it self-centred or altruistic.

But I'm not arguing for Lubo, I'm saying that to write communism off as impossible is wrong. I don't believe communism can work in the west for a few reasons -

1 - Societies are too big
2 - Nature of societies is capitalist
3 - (incorrect) belief that Communism is impossible
4 - ... Well I don't need a fourth because 1,2 and 3 were so good.

Just because they are ignorant doesn't mean they can't be happier! But then it goes back to whether there is enough earth to support a developed world.

I think we came to a general conclusion that Communism can work, but isn't really the best way forward haha
