This will certainly happen in the last four days of the transfer window.

Supergoon. What we need to do and what we will do are two different things.

Arsene won't buy players who are average - he would have done that by now if he was.

He's holding out for the stellar signings

Unfortunately it will be squad players.

Flamini is a prime example of this

Flamini.

Stellar signings like Park, Santos and Benayoun?

posted on 29/8/13

Yeah precisely, he did that when we had no money

Now we have money we can actually target good players

posted on 29/8/13

Please tell me that is a joke. There has ALWAYS been money there.

no there hasn't

We will sign top players

what part of building a stadium for £390m don't you understand?

Ok, bookmarked

Exactly. People say Flamini is a good signing because he's a good squad player. Well Podolski, Wilshere, Giroud and Mert would be better squad players. Improve the first team who (despite what some deludwd souls believe) are miles off being title challenges and our squad will improve with it.

What I don't get is that we have been crying out for a dm for so long.

Don't get me wrong, flamini is not a bad player but why not invest £20M plus on a genuine high quality dm rather than going for the freebie option

"what part of building a stadium for £390m don't you understand?"

So in 2 years we've gone from being bankrupted to having more cash than nearly every single club in England combined? How did that happen?

why invest £20m in a DM when you can get a similar quality DM for free?

That you, Arsene?

not from bankrupt no. We've also had a much higher debt than most other teams in the premier league

The talk is that we've got around £70m -£100m to spend. Well we got this money because this year we have earned an extra £30m from our commercial dealings and about £50m extra from tv.

So maybe in the past we had the odd £10m-£20m to spend but nothing substantial

so yes - it's only really been this year where we've actually had a decent amount of money to spend

£20m fee and £100k a week for gustavo or flamini for free on £50k, very very easy choice, smart business by wenger

"not from bankrupt no. We've also had a much higher debt than most other teams in the premier league "

Our debt is manageable and far outweighed by our revenue, we do not need to even touch the cash in the bank to pay off our debt so it's irrelevant.

"The talk is that we've got around £70m -£100m to spend. Well we got this money because this year we have earned an extra £30m from our commercial dealings and about £50m extra from tv."

We haven't got any extra money from our commercial dealings yet. Ok, we have got an extra £50M from Sky, where did the other £130M in the bank magically appear from?

£20M fee and £100K for a world class player or £50K a week for an injury prone has been?

posted on 29/8/13

No - we got a forward payment of £30million from our commercial dealings

So yes, this year we have about £80m more than last year and all independent analysis of our finances suggests we can outlay £70m - £100m.

Just because we have cash in the bank does not mean it is all available to be spent.

Haha gustavo is not near world-class, flamini is not a has been after his impressive displays for milan last season, injury prone? Arguable but he is in top condition currently
