Because if we don't make a big deal of it then it will never stop. I hope though that every other dives receives the same press as the young one.

Although have to say young is renowned for it. I cringed when he went down the second time as I also thought he went down easy then as well. He needs to cut it out

It reminded me of Pires when he stuck his own leg out so it hit the defenders leg and the ref gave a penalty think it was against southampton

no conspiracy here. Young dived it looked bad and is getting the reaction it deserves. There were similar reactions last season to suarez and bale dives.

Because he has form for it, he's the worst in the league for it, and because ever since stam in his book told us united players were trained and encouraged to go down to win a penalty united has a reputation for it.

There goes loz stretching the truth again

Players who play for Big clubs will recieve more attention and so will their players. For example, if a Hull player dived, not much fuss would be made.

Young has been a diver since his Villa days, yet it is when he is at United that the Media and fans have picked up on it. It is because United are the biggest club in the UK. It would be the same if Young played for any of the other big clubs or league title challangers likeArsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and City.

People want it cut out. And hopefully it will have Young cutting down on his antics in the future.

He sticks out because he's just got back in the team and he dived all over the place. Did the same for England too.

I'm not one for crucifying divers - there's worse things in the game imo - but Young is pretty obvious with it.

Who is he the worst in the league Loz?

It has been about 18 months since the QPR/Villa instance and nothing has been said since.

You think no other manager has told a player to go down easy?

You make it sound like no other club does this?

Staam wrote that don't shoot the messenger,

"He shouted at me `What must the people think when they read your book and they read I told players they had to dive and that I flatten tables in the dressing room?'

"I didn't understand his argument at all because I only told the truth.

His words, your team has been trained to cheat penalties, this coming from a man who was inside, not fiction his own words.

Remember all those times Young was singled out in the media at Villa for diving

Said no one ever

I've no doubt it is true. But again, the way you're bringing it up would indicate that you believe United to be the only team doing this. Is that what you believe?

Who also would have had an agenda after his dismissal from the club.

-----------------------------

If they were been trained to dive surely more than one person would have mentioned it over the years.

theres is a differance between what young did and going down easily when defender makes a stupid and reckless challenge in the box.

Only takes one person to tell the truth diva, jaap did just that.

Seriously, why have managers and players and fans all complained about united and penalty decisions especially at old Trafford?

posted on 16/9/13

Why does it matter if Young is the worst in the league or if other teams do it? Diving is something which should be kicked out of the game. Suarez does it and I cannot stand it. In fact Suarez probably is the worst in the league for it, but the fact is that any sort of diving is wrong and needs to be eradicated from the game.

Yes Loz and soooo many have said it since.

But because one player says it then it must be true

So you take everything, everyone says as truth?

Fair enough

Jealousy and bitterness at the biggest club in the country I would imagine.

On the match thread I think every single United fan condemned Young's dive.

However, you can hardly lay the awarding of a penalty on Young's head. It's not Young's job to decide whether or not it was a penalty. It was certainly a foul, he didn't dive for that, it was however outside of the box, and I also don't think it should have been a red.

But it isn't our opinion that counts. The ref got it wrong but for some reason Young is getting the stick for that too?

I'm not trying to excuse his actual dive in the slightest, that was terrible and was deservedly booked. Especially given he was in a great position anyway!

Ignore Loz, this is how he gets his kicks.

Diving will never be eradicated from the game. Its commonly used in leagues outside of the PL as a way to gain an edge over your opponents. I include exxagerating contact, feigning injury in this too. You'll see it a lot more in the CL this week. You'll see it in international tournaments like the World Cup as well. It wont be stamped out

It is perceived that teams like Utd should not have to rely on diving to win against teams like Crystal Palace at OT.

posted on 16/9/13

Mr Chelsea, are you saying "If you can't beat them, join them"?

posted on 16/9/13

Scribe, should any team rely on diving to win no matter who the opposition?

I dont think Mr. Chelsea is saying that, I think he's just been realistic
