Chelsea was interested as well before he joined Arsenal. I think at the moment you would have want him in your team.

Unfortunately not on that level yet.

He is probably technically better but drogba was just an animal

Forget Drogba. Think more Pele.

Drogba could slam one in from 40 yards whenever he wanted. He could head a ball faster than anyone could kick it. He was devastatingly quick (giroud doesn't have the speed).

Drogba was a nightmare and along with Henry, the two worst players to have to defend against.

Saying that, giroud is very strong and does hold the ball up as good as the drog

Drogba was/is a physical specimen. Giroud looks like a physical beast too. He's dominating defenders a lot more now than he did last season.

I did say last summer Giroud will be the white drogba but seriously doubted that by mid season. Now I'm beginning to think maybe I was right.

oh my god. technically better than Drogba? Drogba has great technical ability. not sure where that came from.

its really not close. Giroud is nowhere near as good technically.

Drogs early years was full of bulldozing through players.

There was no finece about his game. He improved technically as the years went on but was not great

Drogba 's technical ability gets overlooked, which is a shame as he had great technical ability.

Who knows, may Giroud can, or may be this is too early in the season to judge.

I would give anything to have the Drogba at 26 again.

^ Was just about to say that!
Yea I think people tend to focus too much on Drogbas first couple of seasons, his touch either improved a great deal or it was just a case of confidence, probably the latter

Giroud has more finesse to his game than Drogba, his flick ons and little touches are so good at times.

Drogba was pretty handsome
