He's probably good enough to justify 100k a week, not sure why age is such a massive thing in these negotiations.
Wonder
------------
According to Robb, if you pay a youth player £100k a week, then the whole youth team will come demanding it.
100grand? Wonder man - please be my agent
In all honesty, if his agent turned around and said "My client wants a 5 year contract on £100,000 a week", we'd be mad not to pay it. [£26m contract]
The reason why is, yes, it's ridiculous for an 18 year old to have and demand that much, but in this current market, spending £25m+ on average players is common. Why refuse to spend that much, then have to buy a player worth about the contract you don't want to pay in yearly instalments and then pay a contract worth roughly the same on top of that?
One good game and you should be on £100k a week.
Some United fans come out with some utter rubbish sometimes.
DarkPhoenix

That's £26m plus a 5 year contract worth £100k a week.
Total package probably £60m
Even if he's asking for £50k a week

Double that. He just made Nani, young and Valencia look like lost puppies yesterday at 18. Considering the fact we are not paying a transfer fee, they could come in with 200,000 per week and they won't be delusional. Or do you think other clubs won't pay him that just so we don not have him?
We pay either way either by buying from the free market or paying the youngster. It is so much more cheaper when you sign them up at the first glimpse of real talent.
I await the greedy agent malarky that will come up soon.
I agree Fred, which is why I said in my post it will be ridiculous if we pay it or his agent genuinely demanded it. However, I think a lot of this 'fear' has spurned because of:
1. Pogba
2. Our ability to negotiate. It's laughable, at best!
What Fred said! Never known a player be overated so much after just 45 minutes of football!

I wonder why smileys somehow convince people what they are saying is funny. Its only funny in your head.
Chelsea have a 16 year old on a SCHOLARSHIP on £20k a week.
He's the highest paid 16 year old in football.
Not that's ridiculous.

As soon as any of the WUMs answer that, it becomes obvious what is at stake here.
Januzaj has already matched Welbecks goals from lastseason from the same position. Welbeck is on 80k. Dunno what Cleverley is on but Januzaj should be offered a decent contract ASAP. At least 30k p/w
What do you mean replace him! He has scored 2 goals in one match! I ask will answer you question with a question. Do you feel he is a regular first team player now?
A lot of knee-jerk reaction to what was a fantastic debut. He's the type of player that will probably have a lot of streaky games, brilliant one moment, careless the next, and people will react accordingly.
I hope that he doesn't expect a mega-wage and I hope that we don't offer him one. Of course it comes down to performance on the pitch, but also nurturing him off it, and if he is being well-advised, then I expect Utd to make him a good offer which most teenagers can only dream of, and if he develops as we hope he can, then the financial rewards will come in due course. I'm sure when Ronaldo / Rooney etc first came to us they weren't given 'bonkers' wages, but subsequent performances 'earned' them that, and it should be no different with Januzaj.
It's a good job none of you have anything to do with the United board. Macheda would be entering the final year of his £100k a year deal
The same people who use the 'a good 45 minutes' argument are those who were too short sighted or ignorant of the youth team to realise that Pogba was worth the 40k he wanted. It doesnt take much of an appteciation of talent and a bit of knowledge beyond the star players of the first 11 to see that Adnan has been promising for years and has far more talent than cleverley and welbeck did at his age. Oh and it isnt a 'good 45' because he's played a few times this season and stood out each time.
While he has shown the right signs 100k is just stupid! Should we of offered Rose 100k for scoring a screamer against Arsenal on his debut!
Kinsang,
So far he has been excellent each time he has played, which suggests he might be a consistently good player. What evidence do you have to assume from a number of consistently good performances that he will be one of those players who has a lot of streaky games? There is none.
Big difference between 40k and 100k!

I feel he is a highly talented youngster. Ask yourself how much have been paid for the likes of lucas, shurrle, shaqiri and other highly talented youngsters in terms of transfer fees and wages? Pick any club and the young shiny player they bought and the amount required to buy a youngster and then pay the player and handlers, that is the opportunity cost of Januzaj.
Is he a first team player? No he is a member of the rotation and he is not the worst. For a club like United, that comes with a certain pay grade.

That was the ONLY thing Rose did in that match.
