Januzaj contract

Scribe I am sure as hell not suggesting we offer him 100k, but if by Jan he has continued delivering stand out performances then I would be less inclined to say 'dont pay him 100k.'

Hopefully he's more grounded than Pogba and we can sign him on a 20-40k 4yr deal and renogotiate it in 2 yrs up to whatever it takes if he develops as we all hope he will.

Give him performance wise incentives

Do you feel he is a regular first team player now?
----------------------
Yes.

You may only have heard of him yesterday, buy United have known for a couple of years that this kid has the potential to be a superstar.

It's a good job none of you have anything to do with the United board. Macheda would be entering the final year of his £100k a year deal

Somebody had the wisdom of signing him before he went and scored that goal. He must regret that now.

He' French, He's Flash

I think it's only natural from such a young age that he will be a streaky player, and hopefully in time he will become more consistent. Look at players like Giggs, Rooney, Ronaldo etc, all top performers from a young age, but it took them all a while to gain that consistency that comes with a bit of know-how. And remember, most players don't turn out to be top class performers like those mentioned.

Don't get me wrong, the potential is there for all to see, and there is nothing I would love to see than him becoming a mega-star for us, but we need to show patience with him, and bring him along. As I said before, it's about the whole package, both on and off the pitch.

I would rather see adman on ashley youngs wage right now than ashley young. I'd happily ship him out an give him januzaj the cash.

You can never tell at this age. Sterling looked a world beater last season. It would be mad to give the kid any more than £30k a week unless he is top drawer for the next few months.

Considering the fact we are not paying a transfer fee, they could come in with 200,000 per week and they won't be delusional.
....

Wtf..

If he explodes over the next months, while waiting for him he will get to January and receiving competing offers from other clubs. Guess what? They will offer him over the top bids to get him to leave. Whatever we offer him now, triple it when he starts receiving valid bids.

TBH it does not matter how good or badly he performs, by december he will be receiving competing bid, and whatever we offer him now will never be enough.

There is a wage structure at the club, you do not just throw money around as you will disrupt the harmony in the team. The club should offer him something in the 50k region with incentives for performance.

Anything else will create problems in the team

And if it is not enough? That is really the question here.

And if other clubs are offering him 80k?

posted on 6/10/13

What are these problems may I ask?

And what effect will they have.

None, that's what.

You can't tell me some of those players see the likes of welbeck on 80k and young on 115k and think I should be earning more than those two.

It makes no difference.

This kid had been the only bright spark in a dismal opening to the season. He excites the fans when he's on the ball as he's a joy to watch running with the ball. The kid is speical so for the love if god get him signed on a decent contract, as if Woodward messes this one up then he should be sacked with immediate effect!

I doubt Rooney was even on £100k when he joined.... Utter madness. £200k

Just offer him the going rate of players like Cleverley, Welbeck, Jones, Smalling etc.... It would be a fantastic wage for an 18 year old player.

ps - Welbeck had a fantastic debut and looked the business, before people start crying about comparing such players.

Again, if a club out there is offering him £80k a week plus a multi million pound signing on fee.

Then he can go ruin his career at an oil club.... None of the clubs who are self run will pay £80k a week for someone who has played 180 minutes competitive football.

It is very, very easy for an internet fan to say "pay what he asks" but anyone with any business sense knows that will not happen. Our academy will implode, with any player showing talent demanding a higher wage than what the oil clubs can pay.

I literally think we should sell Valencia, young and welbeck and offer him 340k a week.

That way no harm is done to the existing budget. And we could make him promise not to tell other players.

Like Pogba ruined his career?

posted on 6/10/13

Stretty and SLM, he's had one excellent game and a few cameos. Not enough for massive wages. I would happily put him on a wage in the region of 50-60k and tell him, improve and every season we renegotiate.

Anything more at this stage sets a bad precedent and everyone suddenly starts thinking, he's done nothing yet and is getting that, I want more.

It's happened before with Keane and Ferdinand

They however deserved big contracts without any question.

Did Pogba move for money, you cretin?

It must be very strange being you, right now....

You clearly hate Moyes, yet he IS playing Januzaj and doing everything that SAF didn't do, in Pogba case.

Agreed stretty and they got it after years of service, not one game

You're expecting a boy to offer less at United than any other club?

While I admire you're stance it's deluded.

It's business. Do you hire graduates at your bank and pay them more than guys who've been there and done that?

That's madness
