But I can't help but feel different about him at moment, it is clear that had Utd not blocked his move he would be Chelsea player now.
--------------------------------
Oh right, that's been announced has it?
tell me, what did Rooney do all Summer to suggest he was trying to force a move to Chelsea?
Ok I see what you mean, but please don't say you believe he wouldn't have gone had we allowed him too ?
VCD
I do not know but his body language and actions didn't suggest he was trying to force through a move. He posted how gutted he was for instance how gutted he was to have picked up an injury on tour, on his facebook page. That though never made the papers.
Rooney is a very wealthy man. He could have done any number of things to try and force through a move. Downed tools like Berbatov did at Spurs a few seasons ago. Refuse to come back preseason like Bale did, Gob off to the media like Suarez did. Put in a transfer request and beg the club to let him go, like Fellaini did.
I just don't see anything to suggest he was tring to move. (I do think he would have tried to force it if Fergie had stayed however but the Chelsea interest came after Fergie had gone, and I think Moyes joining changed Roo's mind and he just got his head down.
All the Chelsea stuff came from the press and Moyed did say to the press they were getting it all very very wrong, and for that reason, he was enjoying talking about Rooney
Cant argue you make good points
But I still can't help how I feel and I does feel different this season for me.
Just want to see it put to bed once and for all

What did he do all summer and indeed still to this day to suggest he wants to stay?
I don't think Rooney wanted out of United per say. I think it was all about him and Fergie.
The players, Fans and Moyes......Rooney seems to be fine with.
If he really really wanted out as well he would have come out and said so and publically put pressure on the club to sell him. He never did this.
I honestly think that had Rooney known Fergie was about to retire, this would have never happened.
What did he do all summer and indeed still to this day to suggest he wants to stay?
------------------------------
Came back for Summer fitter than ever
Got his head down in training and impressed the new manager
Went on tour with United despite his family flying to the Carribean the same day
Posted how gutted he was to have gotten injured on tour
Wanted to train with the reserves because he was playing catch up fitness wise when the first team were doing light work ahead of Rio's testamonial
he never put in the transfer request that the press said he was definatly going to do
Never stropped like Bale. Never went to the media to gob off like Suarez. Isn;t playing half hearted play, Isn't showing any negative body language (including before the transfer window shut)
Now, can you list the reasons you think he wanted to go to Chelsea?
(Note, I. as usual, am not stating he didn't want to go, I'm stating how I view the facts we have)

that's probably the most logical explanation but for some reason, some fans just don't want to think that might be true
It's all very baffling
Jose came out and said hand in a transfer request for the move, Rooney never. End of story.
Macca
No idea why people can't believe it could be true.
Look at the long list of top players that Fergie fell out with during his time at United. Why should Rooney be any different?
I agree, it seemed more like a 'Fergie problem', than a Man Utd problem. I would be astounded if he did end up moving in January, especially as he is cup-tied in the Champions League.
Correct BB.
Fellaini did. Roo didn't
I think it's because Roo didn't want to lose his £36.12 loyalty bonus
Plus if the deal falls through he loses half his money till the end of his contract.
If somebody guaranteed us Lewandowski on a free next summer and let's say we got £25m for Rooney.....would you take it?
SE
No
Lewa's a number 9 and Roo is a 10
Lewa would be fighting for RVP's place unless we played a flat front 2
If RVP decided to fek off, I'd take Lewa in a heartbeat though
Macca
But everyone was saying throughout the summer that Rooney is a number 9 and an average number 10.
SE
Well some were
Rooney excels at both roles in truth
Apparantly that's why he wanted out, because RVP had taken his spot at 9, and not Welbeck's

i have answered you and am now awaiting your list of 'evidence' he was trying to move to Chelsea
I personally think we should we steering away from pigeon holing players into certain positions. Football has evolved.
Barca don't tell Messi, Pedro & Iniesta for example where they can and can't go. Bayern don't with their team either.
I think we should start to play the 4-3-3 style and let Rooney, RVP + one other wander where they so wish.
So it is Fergie's fault Rooney was playing crap and was dropped right?
You guys are for real right?
Who said a fit and firing Wayne Rooney would not be on the bench? Who told him when he asked to leave that he would not be allowed to and he should go and have a think about it?
Ridiculous the lengths some of you will go to defend a player who has not committed to his club even when given ample opportunity to?

Rooney was the one who wanted time to think about it
Fergie did not tell him to
That's not true, Fergie told him he would not be allowed to leave and he should go and think about it. You know that interview Fergie gave, go and watch it.
