Pochetino got Southampton playing like they are, almost immediatly Robb. He's not been in the job a year yet.
It excuses I'm afriad. We didn't employ the best manager we could have appointed. We went for a friend of the boss who was out of contract.
Did anyone really expect the period after Sir Alex retired to be smooth sailing?
----------------------------------------------------
Yes. Had we appointed a manager with pedigree the period would have been smoother.
How hard is it to just accept we're in a transitional period now?
-------------------------------------------
Transition and all those terms are nonsense. We are the PL champions. How can there be a transittion when no player apart from Scholes has left?
This isn't going to be a week to month thing. We're talking years.
-----------------------------------
So you will take a finish of outside top4 for the next 6 years of his contract?
Sir Alex's last few years may have brought titles but the style of play was just as boring.
----------------------------------------------
Still million times attractive than Moyes'
I expected it to be bad, but this is taking the pi$$ tho. We should be beating West Brom/WBA at home.
There's a difference between being in transition and being complete dog sh'it

we should be beating teams like west brom and southampton though especially at home. Other teams can change style very quickly like everton, liverpool and southampton.
Really a team that won the league by 11 points is now in transition ....to what?. You were a bad team last year just everybody else made you look good. Now you don't have Ferguson interfering in every major decision in the game you arebeing made to look the ordinary side that you have been for the past 3 years.
i keep asking this question, transition to what? Moyes is not known for any attractive football or any trophy winning displays so what exactly are we transitioning to?
it's turning out to be a disaster than a transition by the looks if it.
Was Fergie that good, or is Moyes really that bad?
There will be plenty more results like this while Moyes gets to know his squad and gets the players he wants into the club.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Moyes is out of his depth if he can't beat average teams with players who are much better than most managers have, simple.
a transitional period would be finishing second a few years
This sort of blinkered comment is why your all feeling it so much you really believe utd deserve to win it every year and there are no others with a chance of challenging that even when you have to rebuild you presume you are entitled to finish second. This is why everything will be so much sweeter for other teams supporters watching the demise of utd and so quickly too....
You are transforming from a butterfly to a grub
transition my backfoot. This is diabolical.

I think Moyes is bottling it currently, doesn't mean he's not up to it in the long run though.
A question to everyone.
Were we a great team last season? Nope. We got by by the skin of our teeth on a lot of occasions. That was because of two guys.
RVP and Sir Alex. Now Sir Alex has gone and there is a massive hole in the mentality of the side.
Moyes needs to change a lot of players and bring in the ones he wants.

Were we a great team last season?
-----------------------------------------------------
No but the squad we have should be more than enough for Moyes to choose a team to beat teams like WBA at home. You cannot argue that.
Moyes should not have got rid of all SAF coaching staff, at least keep some of them. Bet he regrets that now, at least they knew the team inside out. Then he wouldn't have needed to use the excuse of "still getting to know the team" etc.
The "demise" of United will just not happen I'm sorry to burst your bubbles mate.
At least nothing like Liverpool or Leeds I hope .
We will always be challenging for the title every year in my opinion ... We're Manchester United. Remember that
