Who would you like us to sign?

All in all, who do you believe we could realistically get to come in and improve us?

------------------------------------------

'realistically' is the key word there tbh... if we're still struggling will the likes of Koke etc even entertain the thought of coming.

we could end up paying over the odds for players, no better than what we've got, in desperation (like Fellaini... or like Liverpool did when they were on the slide).

we really need to kick start this season now and hope to be in a stronger position come January

I agree with what you're saying, we're going to need a left back as it looks like Evra is off anyway. We're too slow in the middle of the pitch and I think this is what's hurting us the most.

I'd love to see Kagawa succeed here, but it's no secret that Klopp wants him back. We should try and use that to our advantage with a move for Gundogan if it's decided Shinji will be moved on.

I would buy an established quality CB as I don't think Jones, Smalling and Evans are anywhere near as good as Vidic or Rio were.

Luke Shaw for the LB spot as he's got bags of potential and - unlike Evra - can see a pass and cross the ball!

CM - Fellaini is everything that Paul Scholes was not. No point having a taller, slower and technically inferior Carrick alongside Carrick... makes no sense. We need a box-to-box ball carrying midfielder.

RW - We need a right winger. Nani is not as good as people want him to be, whilst Young and Valencia are even worse.

ST - A fast, lethal, quality striker to replace RVP (or at least take some of the slack). Hernandez and Welbeck are not that player.

don't think you can knock Hernandez for not being clinical

If we're willing to spend £27m on Fellaini, then I would go all out for Shaw and a top, top CM like Vidal.

These discussions are futile while Rooney remains at the club.

We're playing a flat 442 and that isn't changing. Fellaini and Carrick will continue to look slow and silly, Kagawa will continue to waste a year of his career and we'll continue to score goals unless Januzaj and Nani play incredibly well every week, which isn't going to happen.

Who do we sign? A winger to replace Januzaj? It won't be Rooney out the side. And the new signing can't be dynamic or change positions, and how dare Rooney leave his sacred striking spot for one second? And why buy another midfielder, just to isolate him due to Rooney's insistence on being a striker?

"Koke is crap." "Gundogan isn't really worth all that money, is he?"

You name it, it'll get spouted about. Any dynamic midfielder wouldn't come within in an inch of Old Trafford at the moment and nor should they. I don't see a vision or clear aim at the moment. People like to laugh at Brenton over in La La Land, but I will say is that from day one, the guy has his ideologies and he's stuck by them. His team are improving and I can see why. I don't get that from Moyes. He just seems to be making strange decision after strange decision as he goes along and I don't think who we do or do not sign is making a huge difference to our fortunes.

We're the only 'big' club in Europe operating such a system and until Rooney leaves, or Moyes has the guts to play him deeper or not at all, our struggles will continue. Our formation would make Xavi look like a prat, never mind Marouane bloody Fellaini.

Just need an injection of young, hungry and quick players that will play at a high tempo and without fear.

We have to mould a new "team" and not concentrate on signing stars. i personally think those days are over as its not just chelsea and city we are competing with but all these new foreign sugar daddy clubs like PSG and Monaco.

Too many slow, over the hill players getting playing time and we've started to become a little predictable.

French.

Pretty much agree with everything apart from you saying we need to replace RVP. When do you intend on this happening?

Still think RVP has a few years at the top yet and it is probably the position that least needs attention.

Or, we should have just bid £50m for Cesc.

I'd rather see us get with the times and start pressing teams high up the pitch with good intensity.

So until we start playing a certain style of football, talk of who we might bring in seems premature.

To play that sort of football we need to invest in the right sort of players

I'm going to answer this anyway. Aside from a change in system we need the following:

Two new left backs, as Evra is clearly leaving. Coentrao or Baines as first choice and some kind of reliable back up that isn't Buttner.

The rest of the defence is fine. Buying young players to never even give them a genuine shot at consolidating themselves is a waste of time and money. Smalling, Jones and Evans are all good enough, just play them and see.

We need two midfielders. They should be dynamic, creative and technically very good. They will cost big money, so that isn't happening with Krusty the Clown as Chief Executive.

We could also do with another dynamic wide forward to compliment Nani, Januzaj and eventually, Zaha.

I would say goodbye to all of Buttner, Rio, Anderson, Giggs, Valencia and Young come next Summer. I assume Evra will be gone, too. And Rooney, and I long for that day.

With my Football Manager cap on, I'd move heaven and earth to bring in Marco Reus. In terms of midfield, any of Herrera, Koke and Gundogan would be very good signings. We need two.

Shaw/Baines, Di Maria and Iniesta if he is still linked with us

Ideally whilst RvP is still at the club as I think he needs some support and whilst Hernandez is clinical and quick, I don't think he's going to be a sensational striker at the level we need to be our main striker in a couple of years.

We need a top class winger and a top class CM. If we aren't going to play Fabio then I'd also go for Luke Shaw (if he is as good as everyone is saying - not soon much of him myself).

My thoughts exactly. We don't have many players who suit that style which is why I was suggesting players who could maybe alter this. Cleverley is perfect for this kind of play and Rooney can do it if we play him a little deeper behind RvP.

Our downfall has been a deep backline and a slow midfield. Problems that can be rectified with a change of personnel

We need players who have a good understanding with Iniesta. I'd go for Busquets and Jordi Alba.

Xavi is too old now, and I would rather have my testicles cut off than sign Busquets.

We moan about Young diving - this guy is 10 times worse.

Alba is overrated.

Iniesta in this current United side would be hilarious for all the wrong reasons.

I'm currently envisioning Iniesta superglued to the touchline, getting fouled by Andy Wilkinson, as Baines launches in the 83rd cross of the game in an attempt to hit Van Persie's head. Completion rate? 0%.

Manchester United forums despair: "Iniesta simply must bulk up." "How dare Iniesta not sprint down the wing and adapt to OUR style of play."

Busquets is scüm.

I would rather sign Suarez.

True story.

Has Adriano been Barca's regular left back this season?

If so, we should buy Alba & Iniesta
