Games aren't games anymore.
How have they managed to turn an assassin game into a pirate game without changing the title

Yaaar maties, kill the scurvy ridden
Hopefully its a better main character than Conor anyway
Wanted him to die at the end of AC3
Well after loving 2 and a couple of its sequels i lost interest totally with 3 - however having seen the reviews and some videos i am very interested in 4, though i am waiting for a PC version as i need a game to play on my PC, GTA 5 is taking up all my console time so need something for when the Mrs grabs the TV
Have played quite a few hours so far, the gameplay on ground is almost exactly the same as AC3, there are a few extra things for the ship though, but I haven't unlocked/bought everything for it yet. If you didn't find the naval parts of AC3 fun then definitely don't get this, although that goes without saying really.
I would say the story is a bit wayward so far, not entirely sure whats going on at times, hopefully it will become clearer soon. Glad to see Edward actually smiles too, something Connor seemed incapable of doing.
Certainly enjoying it though, it makes a change from the more typical games (shooters and what not). Scoping out ships to attack and plunder makes for a fun pastime, and you sometimes encounter other ships fighting each other. I imagine quite a lot of people will say the identity of this series has been lost but I'm not bothered about that, a change was needed to keep it fresh anyway.
Will comment again when I'm a bit further in.
People actually still get AC games?
I gave up ages ago
I'll admit I'm a sucker for AC games.
Why would you give up ages ago?
AC3 was the only disappointing one
One was crap, 2 was better as it had a better character but even that got repetitive.
Ac3 was, as you said, disappointing
1 was repetitive, 2 was very good, 3 was meh
1 was repetitive but i enjoyed the old arab setting.
i thought 2 was sick, especially the side mission video clips on the walls you had to find.
brotherhood was ok, they over-hyped the "assassins" though, wasn't anything special but travelling around Rome was awesome, especially the Colosseum in old and present time.
never played revelations though or number 3
I've liked all of the AC games. I'm one of those guys that when has started a game series has to carry on with it. Whether it is AC, Uncharted, Infamous, Tomb Raider, Mass Effect.....
Didn't really like all the ship battles in the last one but I'll still get it.

I know those guys.........................mugs!
The free roam on this is one of the best in the series imo, it's packed with loads of things to do which don't feel tedious. You can attack forts or cargo huts (good stealth play), hunt animals/go harpooning, do side missions, assassination contracts, or just attack and board/destroy random ships to loot. And I know there's more things I haven't found yet.
I'm glad they've added lots of different clothes/ship upgrades to buy/unlock too, one of those little things AC3 lacked.
I think the game is at it's best outside of the main missions when you're left to do as you please.

I miss Ezio too much tho to move on so soon
Ezio
Best assassin so far
I just got this game and been playing it for the last few days, I'm really enjoying it so far!
AC 1 got very repetitive and I never finished it, didn't play 2 or 3 (although I did buy the second one).
Loving the pirating, better than the normal story. I initially thought it was a bit easy but after I hit 3 wanted signs I got completely owned
Played it over Xmas and finished there in the new year.
Loved the game, so much better than the disappointing AC3, though I still think AC2 shades it (loved the Ezio trilogy of games).
Arguably the best written story beginning to end and interesting character.
Cant wait for AC5, faith in the series restored
Once I finish this I will play through AC2
