I understand bringing on Dier when we were one up in the second half.

However I found it alarming that the manager waited until Walker could hardly move before reverting to the system we started with. Columbia were on top and the system with two DMs really didn't help. We improved when Dier dropped back into defence and Rashford came on, but it was too late in the game.

Winning on penalties was great, but overall I was disappointed with how the team played, especially in extra time.

Yep. Southgate is pretty damn lucky that he avoided a huge amount of criticism coming his way, although to be fair to him, it seems like they've been working hard at practicing pens in training so you'd give him credit there.

Funnily enough the only England game in a tournament that I've missed since watching them was against Spain in 96' when we actually beat a team in a shoot out. Now I've seen one!
