Yes, i think i agree with Sterling not starting and Ali, but Ali may be just a week behind everyone else, and suddenly next game hit form.
Problem is, who is gonna supply the strikers. Whose is a creative threat.
Shelvy would’ve loved being in the team, but he might of seen red last night.
But for sweden, its gonna be a war of attrition.
We dont have a good history with sweden, but this is the World Cup where, nothing is sticking to the script, and ENG are turning the cliches on its head.
I’m already proud of the team and Southgate.
The future looks great.
But is that right, 3 more wins and England are World Champions.... hmmm sounds good.

We beat Sweden a few years back in the Euros when we had Welbeck and Andy Carroll as strikers. Also Woy was our manager.

I'm surprised how everyone is jumping into Sterling bangwagon.
I know he can be fustrating but it is not a surprise England looked really poor when he wasn't on the pitch.
People always referring to his lack of goals but he makes things happen and stretch the defence.
If England drop him vs Sweden, I guarantee you a borefest.

Couldn't agree more, the way Henderson allowed Colombia full control to fool them was incredible, the way Stirling and Lingard basically stopped running at them after 20 mins was genius and the way Southgate brought on without doubt the worlds best footballing statue in Vardy was a masterstroke

What worries me is how dead on our feet we looked. That was after 8? days rest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Did we? I thought that we were fine. Only one team still running in the second half of extra time. The only point we looked poor was the first half of extra time and that was due to the formation change.

delusional !

England have looked poor against Tunisia, Belgium and Colombia after around 30 mins..once their energy levels have dropped and their pressing goes

they have v little creativity in midfield, or ability to control matches after this point

they rely a lot on set pieces

VAR has been a God send to the American football loving Southgate and his v well rehearsed corner kick set pieces

before VAR defenders had been getting away with grappling forwards at corners for a century

No more !

Well practiced corner kick routines are a v v good way of winning a pen now

Who cares about Belgium. It was a run out with a different formation. We were fine against Tunisia and energy levels were fine. They just dropped deeper and deeper. After we scored against Colombia, we looked yo control the game, which we did until their goal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
nonsense you gradually started losing control after the 30mins mark..as you have in all games (bar the panama pub team game)

Maybe it's Neymar who's repaying karma for breaking his back in the previous World Cup.

neymar's going to end up with a broken leg soon and he'll only have himself to blame because he goes down like he's broke his leg every game 4-5 times the little fairy

He already had his foot broken earlier this season.

The guy's playacting is an embarrassment, but he also probably gets fouled more than any other player right now.

He's always liked his theatrics, but if you stop to think about it, perhaps if you'd already had had to endure a couple of actual bone-breaking tackles, you might also be trying to draw the ref's attention.

...and the fact you think his 'fairying' about deserves him getting his leg broken, then that says more about you than it does about him.
