I've never seen a player sent off for not going over to the ref

A few minutes before the red card, ref wanted to speak to Mane. He ran over to the right wing to speak to Mane. Could he not do the same to the Atletico player?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mane was in the location of the offence so the ref went to that location. The ref was already in the position of the offence for the Felipe incident, so didn’t need to.

Not surprised you don’t understand the rules.
Apparently there was some kind of gesture

would make sense, the ref did look like it was gonna be a yellow but after looking at him calling him over 3 times he just decided fk him whipped out the red and told him to walk lol. then got surrounded by 6 atletico players n suarez got booked.
honestly more refs should do the same, book dissent instantly cut it out the game.

so if it stays like this, PSG have basically won their group
if Utd win our Group....could get a pretty nice draw in the last 16 at this rate
same for Liverpool
Chelsea or City could be screwed if they finish 2nd though, as Bayern and PSG are on the table
It would be two yellows if it was just for not walking over wouldn’t it? For it to have been a straight red he must have said something.
BBC reckon it was for dissent

doubt he has said anything....cos from the reverse angle he never even stops to look at the ref
seems like straight red is just for ignoring the ref
there is very clearly no gesture made
he has just ignored the ref

The red is for the foul.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
disagree
if it was a red for the tackle, the ref wouldn't be so causally waiting
apparently the english refs are being even worse

Two yellows in one basically
What is the utter point of Peter Walton when you know he always backs whatever the ref does?
