Adebayor Loan Deal Agreed?

I got to say Harry does like the Ex-Arsenal players doesn't he

Gallas, Ade, Diarra....

I think SSN were reporting it on their paper rumor round up, not as an actual story

Cheers Don. How credible is this site? Harry Hotspur is saying otherwise about a deal + Gago... Why would Man City need another CM though? With Nasri on his way too... Both articles could be bull tbf.

I've learned this summer not to get excited about anything (apart from RRP's bday and our special night )

Doovde - Steady tiger

I think Man City will be desperate to get Ade of their hands, he is currently training with the under 18's isn't he?
They are paying enough wages as it is, if we come in prepared to pay half of them and take him of their hands i could see them doing it...especially with Nasri coming taking another place in the 25 man squad

@ Doovde, well the initial story appeared in the times....... i don't really know how reliable the times are mate but let's just hope it's true

makes you wonder if we are really are as wealthy as we think
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have said this all along Don people seem to think that we have millions to spare just cos of the CL but we have no real idea and I would hope Levy is stashing away a few quid towards the new stadium.

I really am not sure how I feel about Adebayor, yes he can be a good player but he is ex woolwich and he does blow hot and cold. Still if it takes you off suicide watch I suppose it is a good thing

@ Kamikaze Blue, funny how you city fans were *** licking Adebayor until he was out of favour with the team.....typical fickle City fan!! Don't really want to listen to city fans opinions when most of you have already played down Carlos Tevez ability because your getting Aguero

Give us a link to any City fan playing down Tevez's ability. I dare you, in fact I'll double dare you.

Good player, bad attitude If there is a chance he ends up throwing a hissy fit and pi$$ing the club off, no thank you. Knuckles down and plays well, yes please

@ Boris, i can't be bothered to go through all the city threads just to try and prove a point.............fact of the matter is you city fans were saying how you "won't miss tevez" especially if you get aguero (This was before aguero signed) forgetting the fact Tevez basically carried you all season...........so i take any city fans view about Adebayor with a pinch of salt because quiet clearly you were all ** ** licking the guy when he was playing for you especially his first season

I have a feeling Aguero is going to flop i really don't think he's going to be able to hack the premiership.

posted on 12/8/11

Dont think Aguero will flop, but he will be no better than Suarez, and I fear that if its between Aguero and Silva getting a starting spot in the city team Aguero will get it ahead of Silva despite the latter being the better player.

Once Man-city name their 25man squad and Ade isn't on there, he can either take a pay cut and join us or rot in City reserves.

It's a bit like what happened with VDV, the manager didn't want or need him so he got desperate and joined a club on a pay cut at the last minute, pretty much guaranteeing him first team action.

Besides, there hasn't been much interest in him from other clubs and I doubt there is any truth in the Real madrid stories.

Aguero is the next Morientes

city could struggle for goals if Tevez does leave,Dzeko has proved me wrong i thought he was going to be amazing hes useless and i have a feeling Aguero isnt going to like the cold and rain and will struggle with the physicality.God help the if Yaya Toure gets injured he between him and Tevez that was all citys attack could muster.More than ours mind you.

posted on 12/8/11

Dzeko is the biggest flop in prem history taking into account what he cost

the goal against Man U dont prove anything, was a howler by the goalie

Sometimes a player makes more effort when they are on loan, as they have something to prove, to both their loanee club & their parent club.

Anyone remember Mido? He was quality for whoever he signed for on loan, as soon as they made it permanent he turned into the fattest, laziest, player you've ever seen.

Don_tottenham [ Fernando LLORENTE is Gandhi] (U3372)

Hate to bring facts into the debate but Tevez missed a total of about 3 months of last season through injury or from when he spat the dummy, we also won the FA Cup without his help.
He's a great player but don't assume we'll be relegated if he moves on.

Boris

we also won the FA Cup without his help.

=================================

How do you define "without his help"? Do you literally just mean, he didnt score the winner versus Stoke in the final?

posted on 12/8/11

He only played in the final, he didn't score in the final. I think it's safe to say he wasn't our most valuable player in that competion.

I'm not fussed about loans - means we don't have to pay a signing on fee, often don't have to pay the whole of their wages, don't get lumbered with a player we don't want for years (we've got plenty of those), and long-term contracts don't mean much anyway so I don't see a problem with it. Plus we have loads of young players on loan ourselves, maybe in a year's time one of those will come back and stake a claim? Or maybe in a year we'll be back in the CL and hold more allure for one of these 'world class' strikers we are getting linked with and apparently turned down by?

If we can get a loan signing in who improves the team and hopefully gets us into the top four then I'm all for it. And every club is the sort who'll take loan players - Man United, Real Madrid, AC Milan have all done it recently, and apparemtly Chelsea were planning on it with Parker. No shame in it, you do what you need to.

I also don't think it's a sign of desperation - if the strikers we want won't come to us because we're not in the CL (may not be the only reason admittedly) then better to sign a good player on loan than a sub-standard one on a permanent just to get someone in surely?

@ Boris please don't try and make out your best player weren't Tevez...........he carried you last season and you know it. Don't get me wrong Silva and Toure were also excellent for you but Tevez carried you through most the season and to deny it is deluded!!! Your just trying to make yourself feel better because Tevez is leaving I understand because it's a natural reaction from a fan but it's far from the truth......tevez was and is your best player

posted on 12/8/11

hopefully by next season coulliby or whatever his name is will be the real deal.

posted on 12/8/11

Don - OUR BEST PLAYER IS/WAS TEVEZ, I'm just saying that we did OK was he was injured or missing and we won't go into meltdown iff/when he leaves.

posted on 12/8/11

who said anything about meltdown Boris I never once said you would go into meltdown so stop gettin your knickers in a twist. The initial argument was City fans coming on saying how desperate spurs are for getting adebayor and i stated you fans weren't saying that when he was banging in goals for you in his first season.........i also went on to prove a point that you guys have this same attitude towards tevez who was excellent for you last season and you all seem to think you won't miss him

posted on 12/8/11

Man City will OF COURSE miss Tevez (if he leaves) as he is their best player, there's no shame in admitting that!

To say otherwise is just wrong and you know it
