Dennis Bergkamp is the most overrated player of all time.

Not sure he was the 2nd best player in the Wenger Era. I'd probably go with Pires.

He was carried by Henry for most of his career.

Although David Silva is by far the most overrated player in the last 10 years.

Ozil could be the best player PL has seen since Ronaldo and possibly be better than Bergkamp (would take some doing!)

Apparently in 1997/98 there was a scuffle in the tunnel at Goodison Park and Marco Materazzi was elbowed in the chest by Bergkamp. Not quite a headbutt, but no other player did this while Materazzi was at Everton.

So in conclusion, yes, Bergkamp was the closest thing the PL ever saw to Zidane.

two different types of player , bergkamp was a very technical player with a razor sharp brain and of course a wonderful talent ,
ZZ was everything that bergkamp was but with a little more natural ability and could go past people -- dennis was never really known for his ability to go past people -

as good as bergkamp was he will never be thought of as an all time great where as ZZ is

I personally think Zidane was the greatest player ever along with Messi.
Now I'm not saying that Berkamp was 3rd greatest ever, but in terms of composure and the 'touch of an inhumane god' Bergkamp was so much alike

Bergkamp was not overrated. That's a silly thing to say.

Zola had some qualities that were like Zidane but I would say Scholes was the closest we saw.

Funny seeing all the Arsenal fans starting to swarm, all excited like a kid at christmas.

They better hope Wenger isn't gonna wear his sleeping bag as that is usually the 1st sign that the wheels are about to fall off.

I'd put Bergkamp in the very good player bracket.
Certainly not in the same category as Zidane.
Bergkamp was very cynical as well, quite nasty sometimes. .

Zola, Bergkamp and Cantona. All class players that were pretty much of the same level. All scored some of my favourite PL goals:

Cantona the audacious chip against Sunderland.
Zola the ckeeky through the leg flick at the near post, I think against Norwich?
Bergkamp the ridiculous spin against Newcastle

Three truly gifted players that were a joy to watch.

I mean, Fabregas is better than prime, when he was winning player of the year, Zidane.
