And he's spent vastly more than Moyes did to the tune of nearly a quarter of a billion.
And still we find ourselves lagging behind our bitter neighbours in the spending stakes... despite this we appear to be catching up with them...
Well done LVG.
Pellegrini makes LVG spend look small.
Desperate Dan makes LVG chin look small.
United should be running away with the league with that squad.
Most of our squad is filled with youngsters to make up the numbers.
United should be doing their open top bus, routed through Salford and Manchester Ringway by now. They might have a better attendance this time of year, since it's not raining, and no bank holidays, to serve as an excuse.

Are you using mismanagement as an excuse?
Don't set it off he will start spewing stats that prove nothing.

We're trying to tire out our rivals by dominating possession of fourth place.
I really don't think United are lagging behind on the spending stakes, I'm pretty sure that the squad value used takes our players with their full price but not the same for United.
And in any case, of all the clubs to feel hard done by someone else's superior power in the transfer market, United are not one..

That's why they hold the term "net spend" so close to their hearts.

PS: I had to laugh at your post melton, you take diplomacy to another level.
You damn well know

Happy Birthday to this thread, two years young to the date.
I bet he thought he was king of the world writing this.
Now he feels like a scouser, he went too soon!
Ha!
I'm not at Hafi levels of working it out so I couldn't provide a breakdown! Ultimately, I've personally thought that high net spend is a good thing anyway, as long as it doesn't come with high debt. It shows the owners are spending the money where they should do...

I said spending.
Not added value of our assets or anything like that.
You have early spent a hell of a lot more than us, what is it, one summer we've outspent you since your takeover, or maybe 2!
About another quarter of a billion (without reply from City) and we'll be even.

You do realise it was the City fan talking about performance in comparison to spend.
A subject a City fan with any sense would stay a away from has there been a less successful club in England despite having such an excessive spend?
Chelsea are the only ones to spend more but they've won a lot more, United have spent a lot less and have a lot more success. You guys are like the QPR of the top end of the table, throwing around money like confetti but only sometimes seeing results from it

I'm like the Kofi Annan of the forum
I was thinking more Kim Il Jung.
I actually like Man City spending now as they are buying average players for more money and weakening the side.
...as our league position and our progress in the CL quite clearly show.
