The goal you went mental for.

For United in recent times it was Hernandez in the 4-3 win against Newcastle around Christmas last year.

For betting reasons it was Seedorf scoring a 40 yard drive for AC Milan to win the game in the last minute and me getting a £2400 acca coming in. Believe me I was happier than a nun with a diildo.

Frank Stapleton vs Barcelona 1984. I lost my voice the next day.

Also Bryan Robson piledriver vs dippers in 85 semi, or Big Norms winner in that years final. We were standing up at games then, so you naturally went even more mental.

Perhaps a weird choice but one of the most recent was the penultimate league game of last season at home to Wigan when I went mad at every goal. Podolski to give us the lead, then they equalised with that free kick before half time. Most mental I went that game was Walcott putting us back in front, Poldi's chipped third was great too and I enjoyed Ramsey's to finish it off. The best we could do by then was make sure we finished above Spurs so it was a really important game, Wigan were on a high after winning the cup just before and were fighting relegation.

This season I shouted very loudly when Ramsey scored his beauty against Norwich with the two dummies but I shouted even louder when he rolled his foot over the ball, did a roulette between two defenders and backheeled it to Özil

All the goals against big teams in big games draw big celebrations, I remember celebrating lots in the 5-2 against Spurs in 2011-12 and the 5-3 against Chelsea. I went absolutely ridiculously mental when van Persie scored the equaliser from an impossible angle against Barca, perhaps more so than Arshavin's winner. Henry's header against United in the last minute in 2006-07 always a good one. Can't remember it too well but Rosicky's thunderbolt at Hamburg in the CL was WOW. When we pummelled Chelsea to go 3-0 up I remember I celebrated lots. Vermaelen against Newcastle. No doubt lots of others I can't think of.

Scholes against Barca, Vidic last minute vs Sunderland massive goal, and Ronaldos free kick against Arsenal just couldn't believe that went in.

Forlan's first goal for United as well.

The loudest I ever shouted was when Hughes scored a stunning volley in 1994 against Oldham in the FA Cup semi.

'Walcott's hat trick goal in the 7-5. Was sure we would win the league cup after that, then Bradford came along.'

Barely celebrated at the time and I still loathe that game. The fact we were 4-0 down for Reading in the first place was embarrassing. We were lucky to force extra time as the ref played an extra minute I think. Dreadful defensive performance against a fairly poor team in a competition that wasn't massively important.

I wanted to break stuff when that went in. John O'Shea pushing about in the wall like a massive and Almunia being a moron.

King Kenny sealing the title at the Bridge back in 86.

We had a pretty poor record at Chelsea for quite a few years and to win the league there under big pressure, well it was as good a title win as any.

Wrote off in the new year. Our player-manager having a storming second half of the season. Brilliant.

Drogba's second against Liverpool in the CL semi 2008.

I didn't go mental seeing as I was cheering Barca on the night but that Torres goal has to be the most surreal moment I've witnessed as a fan of the game.

The camera was playing tricks. Barca had spent so long camped in Chelsea's half that when that ball was booted up the pitch in Barca's half, it took significant time for the camera to catch up with Torres who was suddenly one-on-one with Valdes.

I still don't know how the fack Chelsea won that tie over 2 legs. Fluky as hell.

Yea pretty much the same for all of me. Walcott vs Wigan, Chelsea and Spurs, RVP's 3rd vs Chelsea, Henry vs United at the Emirates. And that Fabregas penalty vs Stoke when Ramsey broke his leg, thought we would win the league that season.

posted on 14/11/13

Being in Munich and watching Drogba send Neuer the wrong way for the penalty off 3 paces. I know it's not from open play like all the others mentioned here, but it is still a goal and the feelings of both sheer relief and pure joy that it unlocked is something that if you could bottle it and sell it, you would make millions.

John Terry's penalty miss. Went insane at that.

That was the definition of MENTAL STRENGTH. Felt good to win that night after a horrible injury, a real battling performance.

Another off the top of my head would be Fowler's second at Old Trafford in Cantona's return.

Ultimately worthless as we only sealed a point that day, although we played them off the park. However, both his goals that day were stunning.

Brushed Neville off and made a fool of the best keeper in the league with a lovely chip.

Prime Fowler.

I'd like to nominate a save, VDS pointing to his left in moscow and diving low to his right, leaving a disconsolate anelka wondering why none of his team mates were consoling him after witnessing terry get the big hugs for missing his only seconds earlier.
