He MUST start in January though. Dropping out of TOP 4 simply Can't be allowed to happen. If that means signing a stop gap player to ensure we qualify then sobeit.
Difficult balance for Moyes in making it his own team and not breaking up the league champions.
Still maintain there is not much wrong but we need 2 0r 3 starters joining now
Southampton play better football than we do.
We should all look at world football to see if there are any players struggling for games before WC then send United an e-mail about our scouting mission.
Can't believe that there is no-one there (and available) to improve the team.

should results go our way in the 4pm games, we will be maybe 3 points off 2nd so that fact we are 8th ain't too much to worry about.
Our next 6 games are very winnable, win 5 of those and we will be at least in the top 3
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We said that about the likes of Cardiff and West Brom. I don't think we can just expect to finish top 4 anymore, at least not this season.
The next two transfer windows are important for us.
Just watching the Chsea game, that Ward-Prowse fella looks a talented lad, wouldn't mind a punt for him in the summer. I've heard Saints fans speak very highly of him.
I said on another thread that had we bought Wanyama and Ozil this summer (both were very available) we would be storming the league.
Majority of players who are likely to be going to Brazil in the summer will be very reluctant to move clubs just 5 months before the WC.
That definitely puts a spanner in the works for us.

That depends on how the player is doing at his club. Mata for example, would probably go it, I'm sure there are others in a similar situation.
It works both ways. Lots of players will WANT to move clubs in January if they're not getting loads of playing time at their current club.
A decent few months spell at a massive club like United will always get noticed by the national managers.
dropping out of the top 4 will totally totally upset the house of cards that Glazer has assembled regarding his debt, Uniteds stock value and all these sponsors that he has got on board who all expect to milk the Champions League cash cow.
No. The Glazers' financing of us has always included a contingency for one season out of the CL. Two on the bounce, they recognise, would be a problem though.

Thanks for the insight on that JuanKer. Although as one of Glazers accountants I would try and be a bit more discreet if i were you?

Can I ask where you saw that Juan? Genuinely curious as the statement I saw was forecasting a minimum of quarter finals in the cup competitions and third in the league.
Missing out on top 4 should result in Moyes losing his job.
Not only does it mean a serious drop in income, a lack of interest from players joining and potentially one or two of ours wanting to jump ship.........it might be mean No Hoper League football at OT next season and nobody on here who follows utd wants that.
My top 4 this season
1) Arsenal
2) United
3) City
4) Chelsea/Liverpool/Everton
No chance we'll finish ahead of both City and Chelsea Robb. Possibly one but NOT both.
City IMO are more likely to be a threat but their away form could scupper them. If they fix that then they'll get 2nd.
But Chelsea look a mess.
we will be about 4-5 pts behind arsenal come new year's
City will win the league, they are destroying teams at home and once they click on the road will go on a good run.
Chelsea do look a bit all over the place so I can actually see them finishing 4th.
Arsenal have a lot of tough away games still to play so they are certainly catchable but it's between us and them for 2nd.
If City sort their away form out, they'll walk the league.

But Arsenal are winning the games City are slipping up in.
City may well go on a good run but by then it may be too late. Arsenal may well lose a couple of big games but I doubt it will change much.
There are always 100+ points up for grabs when you take out the big teams from that equation and maybe Arsenal will get 80-90 points from the games against the smaller teams.
They already have more points at this stage than any league winning side over the past 4 seasons and most importantly of all, their midfield is full of goals.
Chelsea may well go on and win this game but they don't look too great this season.
In the next few games they play Sunderland, Arsenal and Liverpool. I can see them dropping points.
Come January we will be lucky to be 8th.
Look you guys can make all the escuses you want about the summer window. Here is the deal; Moyes bought a player he knew well, from his previous club who he should have bought for the sole reason of going into the club IMMEDIATELY since it was a position of apparent weakness.
There is no escuse. He was his target from day one. He should "know his system" and at that price he was not a signing for the future, certainly not one that giggs and jones can bench easily.
So if you want a fella who's system led him to think spending 27 million on fellaini was a top notch idea, good luck to you. I want him to get something going with these players so if he pulls of another fellaini, at least he can bench them and play the ones we already have with some effectiveness.
Fergie used to make mistakes, but at least he had the ability to not rely on those transfer mistakes. Seeing what moyes is doing, I do not think he is to be given the same leeway
