Heb. The market is closed. Where are they going to find sand eels today? Could they tie a small festive light to a goldfish? If the Auk sees through that, perhaps a tinned anchovie, wiggled about a bit to simulate life? It's a worry

I just hate to think of that little mite out there all on his own.... (no, not you TEG)

Some of our football these days is truly beautiful to watch..there's skill and endeavor all over the pitch. Martin is huge, Dawkins is really impressing me, and some of the balls Wisdom made were exquisite. Am I getting carried away with the time-honoured Moj rose-cloured spectacle optimism?? TOO BLOODY RIGHT I AM!

Zigger I trust your constitution has dealt with and weathered the privations of the previous evening.

I didn't touch a drop of beer yesterday. I stuck to the Ipro...
I kid you not I woke up this morning feeling fresh. I even went to the gym in Belper and spent an hour picking things up and putting them back down again...

amber If there's a more futile description of gym work, I've yet to hear it!

I've just returned to the iPro iPod from icing a gingerbread house to find you are all still at it !

The chaos of last night seemingly returning as the plight of said Auk and its need for sustaining vitals is now heading this thread towards epic levels ...

Just checked the iPro iPad as well and I find the same Auk and Gym related shenanigans .. If he flies north then surely Griff you could put him through a tailoured exercise regime to prepare him for the return journey to Heb

The Ballad of the Auk

For far and wide our wing-ed friend
Did forage for our fallen brethren
hostelries the Derwent long he cruised
He sang his siren song so clear
but alas, no cry returned

He sought the inebriated one
Who drank and drank till drinking's done
His taxi home had been and gone
And he stood there,crestfallen

But, digging deep through addled mind
he recalled the day had been quite kind
No, more than that, an epic day
when Rams had blown Blackpool away
a heady fourth, we now stood tall
And he'd celebrated grandly

But time and tide had taken leave
A burger, shot, the odd dry heave
Had spiralled him into confusion
Despite the local beer transfusion

So Hebrides, from Northern lands
Concocted up a mighty plan
And sent the Auk with full supplies
To aid our fallen comrade

And lo, we greet the morning sun
when many of us tied one on
The Auk flew on alone
And, we the happy band of Rams
Shout out "hosanna" 'cross the lands
That plucky little f *cking bird
Had brought our Zigger home.
