In honour of our beloved club, we should really take this thread to 1884 comments....

Good idea

....but on the other hand, Admins look at volume of articles rather than number of comments and so we're not classed as a 'big' club, whereas if the number of guillemot comments alone had been spread into articles of ten comments, we'd have filled several pages.

Just noticed your new moniker 666. I was always taught never to put a comma after the word "and". Go to the back of the class please you daft .

It's not 'never' use a comma before a coordinating conjunction, Scouse; there are permissible exceptions.

Can anyone give me a sentence with 5 successive ands in it that is gramatically correct? (No Googling ...)

Can I suggest a detailed spreadsheet schedule of sub threads and tangential subjects to be agreed in advance around the 1350 mark . This will enable an ordered and coordinated race to the target of 1884 . I am happy to get 3 quotes from a select group of local lawyers to get a contract agreed amongst all parties . This will cover the signatories by way of a binding covenant, sub clause in the respect Auks, whereby all the

Hinton, I'm happy to put my moniker to that. A claw-print from the Auk should suffice, subject to confirmation, via Hebrides, from The Procurator fiscal.

I protest. The auk needs a Guardian ad Litem. No way would he be able to able to understand what he was clawing.

My god ... A man tries to get a grip on this chaos ....and within two posts we get a split ...a schism if you will.... This is why Lawyers make a fortune and bleed the country dry..... Forget the lawyers.... We will get Hebs Auk to arrange a council of assorted creatures of the isles to meet in a stone circle ... They will surely sanely debate the problem at large and then using some sort of tablet and scratching stick knock up the agreement. Heb can then arrange for the most appropriate beast to transfer the tablet facsimiles to the global gathering of Rams fans... The bigger problem is the speed to resolve the impasse and to avoid the onset of winter.. If this filibustering continues we are in danger of careering towards 1884 at an alarming rate.

Mrs Hinton has left in a huff this evening .. Due to the madness I am now locked into... Apparently buying ski wear for Miss Hinton is a better use of my time!

Catalan, by the letter of the law, is correct though Hinton. I submit that we refer the Auk to the inter-species firm of Doolittle, Doolittle & Llama, thereby ensuring him legitimate avian representation.

Well..... As long as this is not one of your legal niceties! I'm sorry, but it's quite hard to trust your sensitivity towards our feathered friend when it's widely known that you eat waffles!
