I hate the words next gen like, PCs had these graphics about 5 years ago
my 4 year old pc is the same power as the new consoles almost. Slightly weaker graphics card but I've got 16 GB of RAM and 2 TB hard drive!

It's because consoles are at the centre of the gaming industry.

But these games have been designed with next gen as the main focus, compared to, say, Ghosts, BF4 where the majority of users will still be on current gen.

Cheat codes are so late 90's. Get with the times.

Also did someone mention Half Life on here? I used to play that on the PC. What a game.

Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A.

Gotta admit GTA V cheat codes for the win. Nothing better than making an attack heli appear and then going on a killing spree or mess with gravity and slidy cars

Vice City was best for cheats. San Andreas also good but you had to use a separate save for them.

Creatures on the Commodore 64 had an interesting way to get infinite lives:

On the front screen you had to waggle your joystick really fast until the fuzzy wuzzy went grey

I haven't been a massive GTA fan since vice city. I think that franchise is really just their go to. I'd love for them to be more creative and work on new ip's like they were with the red dead series.

Manhunt was awful but at least they were branching out.

It's not like they milk GTA. They release one fantastic, massive game every few years.

Was not a fan of IV. Didn't think they got it right.

I liked it

Admittedly not on the same level as the others but still a really good game.

It was horrible but the main character was so boring. The mechanics were also....just not fun.

I definitely wouldn't call Niko boring. He was humorous in his own way, the humour was definitely darker than other games and he had his own interesting story. Mechanics could've been better. There were some good elements but in trying to make it more realistic they did take a bit of fun out in places.

I liked my GTA to be humorous and fun. I just felt, like you've said, they attempted to go far too realistic (cars as heavy as shlt) and it was unbalanced for me. Didn't help that Saints Row went for super unrealistic.

I still think Vice City is the best of the series.

I tend to go for San Andreas over Vice City but both are unforgettable, my favourites of the series no doubt.
