For the record, I don't agree with using sport for politically motivated reasons, but I do see the irony in how some political causes are welcomed and others frowned upon within sport! (ps didn't I spot a vote SNP advertisement at Fir Park recently!?)

Mandela was an advocate for sport. Not sure the other one was.

Bobby Sands was a very keen footballer in his younger days by all accounts.
As for William Wallace, it would have been difficult for him as organised association football came about 550+ years after his death, so he would have kind of missed out somewhat.
Booby sands was a terrorist . That's why you got fined .
So was nelson mandela and william wallace.

Either politics is allowed or it isn't. UEFA should not be dictating what politics is acceptable.
