I'd say 4th is between Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham and maybe United. But you're right Lamela, they're a right mess. Still can't rule 'em out though.
Here's to a good game tomorrow!
One thing I will predict, if we do win tomorrow we will definitely finish above Spurs.
They won't make up a 6pt gap on us.
Sure we might go and lose at City and Chelsea, but Spurs still have 7 of the tougher away games left to play.
All but two of our toughest away games will be
over come the end of December.
That said, I expect us to lose tomorrow.
Righteous.....a draw would suit us much more than spurs. If i was rodgers id send the team out to keep possesion and counter; spurs need to win to close the gap, we have cardiff at home next while they have saints away. 3 points gap can easy become 7!!

Both Liverpool and Spurs have dropped points against 'lesser' teams this season. You lot against Hull and Liverpool, us against West Ham and Newcastle. To say that the league positions will be decided tomorrow and we can't make up 6 points is ridiculously premature.
I've got to say that GB aside the majority of us on our forum are realistic about our aims and hopes for the season, thinking we will mount a series challenge for top four, whether we make it or narrowly miss out are subject to differing opinions.
Almost all the spurs fans here on the other hand seem to think they will definitely finish in the top four and mount a serious challenge for the league despite not even qualifying for the Champions league the last few years. Yet their fans on here seem to think of themselves as the new rising European superpower.
Surely I'm not the only one that finds that utterly hilarious. I think we will lose tomorrow but how enjoyable it would be if we brought them back down to earth from cloud cuckoo land.

What is it with the spurs arrogance anyway?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We're confident, we have good reason considering our recent results against you at WHL and in the league. I like the way Liverpool play under Brenda but your midfield can look flimsy at times and its probably our strongest area.
We haven't been scoring freely but without Gerrard and Sturridge you won't create much either.. 1 goal win for us imo

Its funny because I think this is the exact impression most Spurs fans have of Liverpool fans
For example, I was chatting to a Liverpool fan on here the other day who insisted that Coutinho was the vastly superior player to Eriksen, and that Eriksens career had reached its peak and was downhill from here
We're confident, we have good reason considering our recent results against you at WHL

What about the even more recent results against all the other teams?

ST. If you care to actually check what most Liverpool fans have been saying, we don't expect to get a great deal from tomorrow's game. We are hopeful rather than expectant. Can you show me the arrogance in that. And BTW, I don't count anything GB says as an opinion of Liverpool fans. He either isn't a Liverpool fan or merely creates articles for the sake of attention and wummery.....

Football doesn't work like that fortunately, or there'd be no point watching after half a season.

I think the majority of both sets of fans feel they have realistic aspirations of Top 4 but neither think its a certainty

To be fair I also think Coutinho is better at the moment. Don't know what he was thinking when he said that second part though, both going to become great players.

I basically made the same point.

I quite like Liverpool under Rodgers
Wouldn't it be nice if we both got top 4 say at the expense of Chelsea?

It does. If you can't win at Home to other teams ( I have no idea what your home form is like this season) then why should you win against a team that you've beaten there a few times before? It's not like you've been smashing teams 8-0 at Home every match.
And remember. Your team is completely new. How does previous results factor in when half your players have never played against us? And if you say psychologically, then surely the fact that Spurs have been poor all season would impact them as well?
I'd say our recent altercations at WHL will have no barring on the outcome (excluding altering tactics etc)
And it's not like AVB has the beating of Rodgers. Last season we scored 4 against Spurs and Spurs scored 4 against us (2-1/2-3) And our defeat came early in the season when we were still adjusting to BR.
I think we could beat Spurs. Though we'd miss Gerrards creativity, I think we're going to keep the ball better as that's one area Gerrard isn't very good at. With Coutinho and Suarez in the team we're guaranteed to create chances if we give them the ball.
Newcastle are not a small team, they are in the top 8.
Generally results against the bottom half are wins for both teams. Of course there will be exceptions, but generally we will get about the same out of the bottom half of the table.
It will be results against the top half that determine who finishes where, and with a 6pt lead and most of our top half games being at home, we can feel confident if finishing above you if we win tomorrow.
As I said, I don't except us to win, but if we did I would be very surprised if Spurs finished above us.
When it all comes down to it I still think you'll win tomorrow anyway.
Liverpools midfield is more technical than Spurs GB?
Lucas and Henderson are hardly Zidane class are they.
Just hope that Allen doesnt go MISSing
