Adebayor don't comment often but

Why couldn't Spurs have waited until February to sack him ?

The good news, if true, is we have money. The bad news is that everyone will know it in January and coupled with our need for players we will probably be paying over the odds more than ever.

We knew there's money, Ferguson didn't keep saying it to shut the fans up. It's the truth, but we don't know how the fack to spend it.

I smell bullsh'it personally.

We bidded £28m for Fellaini and Baines. £25m for Cesc Fabregas and we apparently now were willing to spend £100m on Bale?

I'm sorry, but why the feck would any club do that? No matter how 'rich' you are, that's absolutely ludicrous. At best, I can see the club spending £60m, with Tottenham throwing in Adebayor just to get him of their books!

Adebayor

Willing to pay £100m for Bale, wouldn't offer more than £30m for Cesc, eventually settled on Fellaini for £27.5m.

That's just embarrassing.

If I hear one more time about value or who will move in January etc I'll fekkin scream

I agreed with moyes not going mad in the summer but now he should know what he wants

We need quality in the midfield

How long are we going to have to wait. Just pay the fekkin money for crying out loud once and for all

United are like that guy who's just won the lottery but they're dumbfounded with what to spend the money on

That's mad. £100m

Adebayor wtf?

Agreed Macca, but it seems with how 'stingy' or reluctant the club has been, they only have 1 real shot at it. The Fellaini signing was a complete farce. I barely even consider him a Manchester United player. Hasn't sorted anything out in the middle.

For real effect, we need at least 2 players and some genuine style of play. Or we're going to end up with another Kagawa situation, where we have this technical footballer, who can't express his game as he needs a certain style to do so.

I still don't believe the Glazers would be willing to part with £100m for one player.

Maybe they wanted Hernandez or even Rooney and we said we would take Ade

Imagine Welbeck and Adebayor up front for us.

posted on 17/12/13

I think United offered to take Ade as well because Spurs wanted him off the books, no secret he isn't exactly liked at the club and he'd have swung the Bale deal in our favour since Levy could have killed two birds with one stone

In fairness to Adebayor he's actually unplayable when he's in the mood. He just can't be bothered.

He's the African Berbatov

Yes albeit a less talented version.

Adebayor are you serious

posted on 17/12/13

WTF?

I cant see why we wouldve wanted Ade. The only logical reason would be that Spurs were so desperate to get rid of him that they tried to force us to take him in a deal for Bale.

posted on 17/12/13

Surely we will take Ade off your hands was just to encourage Levy.

Besides we have a good squad so after he has 6 good months for us we can stick him in the reserves until he retires / some idiot signs him.

I would be annoyed if we spent 100 million on Bale.
He's worth half that amount, probably less.
Spurs best player for a year, which couldn't have been very hard, scored like 20 goals in one season and is suddenly worth crazy money, more than Ronaldo.

Ronaldo scores 42 in one season and 26 in the next, consistently Manchester Uniteds best player for a good few years, helps us win Premiership titles, Champions Leagues, reach finals etc!

Although Bale would be a qualify player to have, paying that much for him is ridiculous and I am glad he chose to go abroad.
I am also sad that we spunked money on Fellaini, who is no better than Cleverley or Anderson.

posted on 17/12/13

I can understand the not value for money mantra but he was one of the best players available in a position we needed a player for...

Which is very much invaluable.

Do I think Bale is worth 100 million? No.

Would I rather we had him in the team and 100 million less in the bank? Yes.

I think you are missing the point. The difference between Bale and Cesc is the extra revenue in Branding. Bale is seen my many marketing sections as the next ronaldo brandwise. Cesc for all his ability is not that.

I have no doubt Nike will willingly throw in 50 million to sign him and no one will be none the wiser (same way Madrid could pay 85 million without batting an eyelid).

As usual, people follow their flawed logic and seem ready to point and laugh first rather than think.

Glazers are not stupid, they really are not. They own a nearly 3 billion "sport franchise" from a starting position of 300 million. If wasting money would solve this problem and by jove, Moyes first stab at wasting money in form of PAYING 5 MILLION EXTRA FOR FELLAINI should have convinced you of that.

And laugh at the adebayor talk, still a better player than fellaini can EVER dream of being, and half of you guys were positively giddy about it. I would prefer adebayor in midfield over fellaini. If he got adebayor for 3 -5 million and he flopped like fellaini, at least when he is on the bench, we wont worry about justifying his fee, unlike fellaini who SHOULD BE THE FIRST MIDFIELDER SOLD in the ever popular "mass clearout" touted everywhere.

People need to calm down and worry about the real issue is here: Moyes as a manager has not shown himself capable of beating teams he should beat regularly with this squad, what makes you think A) He will do it with better players and B) He will buy the right players? You all were just mocking him for being interested in adebayor now right? what if he goes back for him?

SPEND SPEND SPEND. It is a highly unoriginal way of thinking in football.
