Don

Just go in week with no goals. That way when Spurs don't hit those personal goals you're left not disappointed

I tell you what. It feels great

People couldn't wait to get rid of Scott parker in the summer. Technically he was never great but I would certainly have him back at the minute.

Now people appreciate Scotty's hard work.

Plus Scotty is banging in last minute 30 yarders. According to our fans he just ran in a circle.

Thudd, yeh maybe I will go down that route mate

Stoke's another potential banana grenade. I can't even face the idea of drawing with them, let alone losing. I'll be joyriding Don's bus off Beachy Head ahead of schedule.

Spurs need a heart in their team, a Bryan Robson character. Seems like we can't buy a leader for love nor money.

Don - on your point about us not being very good. well you are right. we aren't very good at all. the reasons for us not being very good is as i stated in the article.

its not ability in the feet, its all up in the head. taking responsibility, having pride in performance, and having the fight to actually want to achieve what the talent says we can.

i mean look at the players we have

lloris - france captain - been giving away goals left right and centre for a while now

vertonghen - former ajax skipper, regular in the number one up and coming team in world football

sandro - plays for brazil when fit
paulinho - plays for brazil when fit

eriksen - international player, regularly did well in CL for ajax and on the international scene for denmark

adebayor/soldado - proven goal scorers, both domestically and internationally.

thats our core - and the squad is deep, versatile, and talented…

yetstill we go out and get walloped on a regular basis and cannot win a game by more than 1 goal

And lets not forget Scotty was a good family man

I think Chronic has a good point in this article, its too easy to be injured, and without leadership on an off the field there is no motivation to miraculously get better.

The real problem we have is our expectation, If you truly believe Tottenham will do well, then you are setting yourself up to be disapointed - its like we never ever learn our lesson - Don has got the right idea, think negative, this is Tottenham after all, a club where even a 3 - 0 half time lead is a bit dodgy - dont believe and you will be ok

sandy is right. if there was a cup final next week then all our injured players would be fighting to get fit for it

Chronic, like me and you have been saying for ages. Our club is cursed and the fact that even 110 mil invested makes us worse is even more reason to believe that. City and Chelsea spend all that money and got better and better each season. We spend that sort of money and get worse, it's boring how predictable we are as a club.

don. the big problem at spurs is that we never ever learn from our mistakes. on and off the pitch.

at what point we will actually learn how to defend a simple set piece.

i have said it again and again, if you can't defend set pieces then it is irrelevant how shiiiit the opposition is, you will always be susceptible to concede a goal.

every player in even the conference can put a decent delivery into the box from a set piece, or at least float it in, so if you can't defend then you can concede against absolutely anyone.

in my life we must have had about 15 managers, temporary and permanent, and not one single one has sorted out the problem.

to his credit, avb finally sorted us out away from home - and what happens, we can't even win a home game

what kind of top half of the table side, cannot win a game at home? its laughable.

can you imagine liverpool never being able to win at anfield?

we just don't learn. we never have done, and we never will.

Don

Not sure the club is cursed, but Spurs do have some players that have been at the club for years, and are unbelievably average at best. But the trouble is a lot of our supporters think they are good players. See where I am coming from. Mediocrity rules at WHL. The sentimental shiiiite does my head in. I want good players at Spurs, not players that wear their heart on their sleeve, but are feccccking useless. Somebody seriously needs to take a lot of the players out of easy street.

I miss Parker's 360s but as for his aimless runs forward ultimately leading to losing possession, Dembele can be just as useless with more style

dembele is an enigma. has all the tools to be world class. but he isn't world class, is nowhere near world class… and its shame.

So Sandy wants to get rid of more players thus unbalancing the squad again. Having to buy another 3/4 players in the next window , meaning gelling and working overtime adjusting players to new tactics

Thank god he just has a JA account and not in charge of the club

My tuppence worth:

2 hours of sports psychological training each week. Fack the tactics chalk and talk for one day and instill a winning mentality in these prima donna caants

pochettino took over Saints and only brought in a few players. Now they're playing excellent football

Oh, I forgot. Some consistency in management and player personnel for more than 3 years may also help to steady the ship. Way too much chopping and changing

I will agree with that, the unbelievable amount of changes every week must seriously hamper any proper gelling. I really for the first time in supporting Spurs (nearly 60 years) could not pick a first XI now. In the past the First XI picked itself, not any more though.

what we need and have needed for years is a settled back 4 ffs

Martinez is doing well because he has a good back 4 who can defend ffs

wenger had the same when he took the arsenal job.

it aint rocket science !!!

Sandy, ok fair enough you have seen some successful spurs sides in your time but for the likes of me, chronic and thudd etc who are in our 20s we have seen disappointment after disappointment with spurs Don't get me wrong the Harry era was superb but even then we had some absolute nightmares under him and we still messed up in true spurs fashion even under Harry. Like chronic says we never learn and it's just f. Uck up after f. Uck up with spurs. For me being 28 I know nothing else apart from my club spurs being a bunch of bottle job c. Unts and always have been.
