Rooney to do a Van Persie?

I can see both rooney and van persie requesting a transfer when united finish outside the top 4 come the end of the season, I easily take rooney at arsenal there is nobody more ideal imo

Rooney is overrated. RvP is past it. I can see Rooney going to PSG for shirt sales.

Top players want to win the Champions League and he may need to leave England to achieve that.

United won't sell either to a PL club. Not even if we finish outside top 4.

The effect us selling him to a rival club in England would have, would be far more damaging than them walking away for free.

They'll stay or go abroad. We'll not sell either to Chelsea, Arsenal or City etc.

Not a chance.

Rooney isn't a top player. He's a couple of notches below genuine world class

I still think he's a top player, if either Arsenal or Chelsea had managed to sign him the league would have been over.

United doesn't need to sell Rooney, he can simply buy out his contract at the end of this current season.

At least if you sell Rooney to City or Chelsea you aren't selling to your rivals

Holy crap, wasn't it yesterday that he was ripping it up in euro 2004, I was playing PES 3 after Arsenal's unbeaten season on my ps2 and getting ready to go to high school?

Fack life is too fast.

If Rooney AND RVP go, our two most important players by far at the moment, I can only see the Glazers splashing out more than they ever have on United and bringing in at least a quadruplet of top players in attack and midfield. Maybe even 5 players.

United, we, have stood still for pretty much the past 3 years, but we'd be taking a step back and 3 steps forward in the same summer if we did that, and the competition with us for 1st in the PL would be City and that is it.

What I'm trying to say is, we have Rooney and RVP and we are shiiiit, if we sold those players, the owners and manager would be forced into really building a new team, and it really would not be a good thing for everyone else bar City.

To be honest, I can see Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie pushing for a move as soon as it's confirmed we will not get top 4.

However, the club will simply refuse to sell the players to a Premier League club and if there is no offer from abroad, tell them they can run their contracts down. Wayne Rooney will almost be 30 when his contract is up, so if anybody wants to take him for what he would want is his final big contract of £150k+, then they're going to hope he can replicate his performances.

Van Persie will be 31 at the end of the season, his injuries seem to be recurring more, so a club would think twice before buying him as with his contract, we have a little more power than we do with Rooney.

So you're going to keep a player at your club, against his will, because he wants champions league football?
Disgraceful

"United won't sell either to a PL club."

It depends who makes that decision. Right now Tampa Bay Bucs are in a big mess and the troubled Glazers need to raise more cash to finance Bucs. So they will need to make sure their cash-cow (Man U) makes the most money from their assets. It's stupid business to sell Rooney to Juve for £20m when Chelsea can pay £40m. After all, none of the big foreign clubs have shown interest in Rooney, and he wants to play in the CL.

The Glaziers are businessmen plain and simple, that's why they wouldn't let one of them let alone both goto premiership rivals, only in the extremely short term would it make sense.

Liverpool thought the same you lost the best manager ever so the more likely scenario is you'll never be that good again.

Tbh, as Arsenal fans we hope it does. But nobody knows how long it will last becoz it depends on so many factors. But right now things are looking particularly grim for Man U, and will definitely get worse if you miss out on CL.
