No I didn't miss the point, it's just a facking terrible point.

OP

While you are apologising for being so arrogant about 4th place in the past - why don't you go all the way and admit what the world and its wife believe to be the case....

Manchester United's title last season was a combination of good fortune, Van Persie and a terrible season for your competitors.

and even if SAF was in charge right now he would probably consider getting in the top 4 as hard as getting in the top 2 in previous campaigns.

I've been saying that for ages mate. People on here can't accept that a perfect storm of SAF retiring, RVP being injured and out of form, other teams improving and Moyes being a slow starter have contributed to our season.

I wish we had more fans on here like you Sticky You may support Everton but you at least see the wood for the trees.

The assorted fairweather United fans on here expect success EVERY season and can't forgive one bad season in this season of ALL seasons.

Darren, I might have to spell this one out for you...

Once upon a time there were 4 teams in the PL who after 25 games have these amount of points...

56, 55, 54, 50.

Those points were on the whole gained whether or not United were good or bad.

I guarantee you if you looked at previous seasons that on NO occasion did the top 4 teams have that many points after 25 games.

Getting in this top 4 is VERY hard work.

And before you say, this isn't about United because like i keep saying, Everton and Spurs are ahead of us.

But in FUTURE seasons if those top 4 keep winning nearly every week like they are doing this season it will be a very good achievement for United to keep up with that.

To be fair it is a bitter pill to swallow...

In 100m relay race terms Fergie had gone round three bends in front.
All he has to do was hand over the baton.
But no..
He throws it at Moyes!

you are truly pathetic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Go support Bayern. Like United really needs some fan in Germany slating the club every week just because we have the nerve to play English players rather than the flavour of the month in Germany.

You're a joke mate. I scratch my brains every day to wonder just why you support United when you have a ready made successful team on your doorstep?

Am I from Manchester? nope. Am I from England? Nope, but at least I make an effort to support the club while you sit there in your haus and wish United were as reliable as the 2006 Audi that you drive.

Only because we have an average manager.

If Fergie or a top manager in charge it wouldn't be a big achievement getting into the top four, and I'm sure the board won't agree either.

Top four would have been minimum expectation, as it is every season. You think they see getting top four as a big achievement when it's minimum expectation?

No, of course they won't. Anything else will be failure.

You can dress it up how you like, you're still talking rubbish and everyone on here is laughing at what a load of crap you are coming out with on this article.

Then you start getting all funny with people and insulting them and start talking about how you wish there were more fans like the obsessed clueless Everton fan that has invested our board the last couple of months.

The worse we get the more increasingly pathetic you have been acting, Rob.

So now you're 'magically' from Manchester. Wow, does the term deus ex machina mean anything to you?

You say the club is being 'destroyed by arrogance' bla bla bla.

I see a big club giving a manager a chance rather than going for the flashy option and one that will stand by him while peabrained fans like you sit in your black forest garten wishing Jose was our manager.

He will get money and he will do what SAF left him to do and make the vast changes needed to be successful. It takes time. Yes, we've taken one step back but will eventually take 2 steps forward IF Moyes and the club learn from this season.

Whether he will, only time can tell but unlike you i'm giving him that time while you slate him and shut your mind to the possibility.

No, i've remained resolute in my belief while you've washed your hands with Moyes far too soon.

I guarantee this board will be a very quiet place of Moyes turns it around as so many people on here have given up on him.

I can foresee many, many people on here changing their names and saying stuff like..

"Hi, long term reader, first time poster! I've been reading this site for a while and was always a fan of Moyes but never posted because of the negativity. Now that he's turned it around I wanted to share in the positivity"

You just bury your head in the sand as to what has happened and then make excuses for the manager.

Then insult people and question their credentials as a fan because they don't rate the manager.

That's not being resolute, it's being a twaat.

Darren, YOU'RE the one burying your head in the sand.

I'm VERY fair. I can see the mistakes Moyes has made and am willing to debate them.

But people aren't willing to accept the possibility that he might learn from this and next season could be totally different.

So many people, you included just slate Moyes and say he's a crap manager, yada yada yada but i'm at least open minded and accept that what has come before doesn't automatically mean it will always be that way.

If in his second season he's making the same mistakes then of course, tear him apart but I find it deeply offensive that people are so ready to kick him to the curb before he's finished one season with us.

Our fans have become the same, reactionary fans so many people on here swear they'd never be.

This isn't the best Chelsea squad I have seen

This isn't the best Liverpool squad I have seen

This in nowhere near the best Arsenal squad I have ever seen

City maybe.

United squads in the past have been miles better than what we see currently in the top 4

Arsenals invincibles were miles better than anything currently in the top 4

Jose's last Chelsea squad was better than this one

This is absolutely nothing like the best top 4 the PL has ever seen. Not even close.

Plenty of lesser sides have been taking points of the current top 4

PL sides used to dominate the latter stages of the CL, and I mean dominate
