They can... it's just that managers seem reluctant to try it. Why else have they not been tried together?

at home against bottom half teams? no, Rafa got constantly slated for playing Masch .

I don't see why people are having a go at others who aren't happy with this performance,

Because one minute we're title contenders, then the sky is falling an Utd are gonna catch up with us, then we're favs for the title again.

It's the biggest knee jerk reaction on here sometimes, I swear.

Main problem, as always, is when Skrtel palys against someone who is stronger and faster than him. He is having as much problems with Bony as he did with Benteke and what happens? The defence drop off 20 yards and suddenly we can't press as a unit any longer. We need to squeeze up pitch.

I agree the manager seems reluctant to try, but I don't understand why. Agger is as 2 footed a centre half you're likely to find anywhere. Don't understand why we don't play them together.

well that was because rafa played 2 dms vs the lower teams in the EPL even at home, not masch fault. Similar to AVB at spurs and Chelsea but at both he didn't have gerrard and torres to carry the team in terms of goals.

It's the "skrtel is gonna get sent off now" "we're so bad at defending" "Jonjo shelvey has sold his sole to the devil just to get us" Which bug me.

We've been far too open in games against Villa, Fulham and West Brom and now this one

In the meantime we've thrashed Arsenal & Everton....the balance is not right

Bottom line is that we tend to leak goals on a far to regular basis to progress. We are putting a top four spot in jeopardy because of it. It's a simple game attack and defend well and you get success.

We are going to win 27-3

Great as the strikers are, they will have off days like they did against Arsenal

we've scored 3 brilliantly worked goals and we're winning

whats annoying is that ok we score goals but even a 2 goal lead at home and you are not confident !

Look at City. Far too open, scoring loads of goals but many sloppy performances. That is the main reason anyone else has a chance

i find our poor defence combined with our amazing attack very entertaining..

its better than a great defence and an impotent attack..

I think we need a new defence coach

Sloppy points dropped against Villa & West Brom...suddenly Spurs are within site.

We are relying on other teams messing up playing this open at times

Not happy with the way we defend. Particularly wit our next three league games all away - Soton, Man Utd then Cardiff.
