I think that if Spurs lose tomorrow, then thats it for the current top four. I cannot see any other team mounting a challenge, no matter who is third or fourth, or whether its Spurs, Everton or United mounting a challenge.

Make no MISTAKE about it son, I reckon Liverpool can win the TITLE.
This league was ALWAYS there for the taking, and it really is a case of being the consistent team to hit top spot come what May. City, for all their Billion spent since the Sheikh should be home clear.
As I said before, this league with the retirement of Ferguson was always there for the taking.

nah chelsea and city favourites

Ferguson was an egomaniac, the man signed a player of RVP's EXPERTISE to Win the league in his FINAL SEASON.
The main aspect of that and conclusion was that United should have invested in a midfield.

Ferguson's EGO is the main reason why this league is there for the taking, certainly this season.

Current top four will definitely be the top four at the end of the season. Arsenal seems to be the weakest of the bunch but luckily for them, only Spurs with a weak squad and inexperience manager is challenging them.

As for the tittle, its between CIty and Chlesea, its always going to be one of those two. Chelsea will most probably win it. For all the talk in the media, Arsenal and Liverpool were never in the title race.

Only reason United arnt challenging is due to utter incompetence of Moyes. With our squad plus 70m spend this season, any competent manager could have got united to mount a title challenge

Chelsea have been POOR this season, just RUTHLESSLY consistent. That's all the holds them back from the likes of Arsenal and United.

Spurs are poor, and they know it since the likes of Modoric and Bale have left.

The only team that I think are on the rise is Liverpool, and good luck to them.
Unlike Chelsea, they play football the right way.

Chelsea are just a team that plays dire football, with the amount they've invested it really is SHOCKING.

Well, I do think City and Chelsea will be first and second but with City having a slightly harder run in and obviously with us needing to beat them,Chlesea and Spurs at Anfield (which really means maximum home points til the end of the season) then we'll be close and could very well grab 2nd.

There is no right way to play football, there is successful/winning way and there is unsuccessful/loosing way. Its all about developing a system to get the best out of the player

Feguson is an ego junkie make no MISTAKE about it.
Was RVP a player that was really for a club like United to have???
I'd have invested in Bale or maybe trying to sign Vidal of Juva?????

Not sure why you'd sign a 30 year old in your final season in charge????? No doubt WORLD CLASS but certainly no long term planning there.

Ferguson's ego by not wanting to PROMOTE HIS ASSISTANTS or getting in Jose IS UNITED'S ACHILLES HEEL so to speak.

I'd go as far as to say even I'd get United into the top4 with that SQUAD of players. Even the man that BANKRUPT Leeds United would get them top4.

Any other CORPORATE ORGANISATION in the world would change LEADERSHIP with this sort of incompetent blueprint.
Make no reason, this is unacceptable in business circles, WHY is it acceptable at football level?????

SAF made a mistake in picking moyes, there is no doubt about that.

As for RVP, It was never a mistake, buying him, SAF signed him and he almost single handedly won us the title last season, he can perform equally well this season too, its just that moyes doesnt know how to us him.

Buying RVP is not a mistake, mistake is spending 70m on players that we dont need and not strengthening the areas that needed strengthening last summer. Its not SAF's fault, its moyes's fault

RVP is mismanaged this season, just like Kagawa, Mata and many other united players this season. The difference with RVP is, being one of the top players in the world and being at the latter half of his carreer, he doesnt have the time to deal with Moyes's shenanigans

Agreed there, always in it for HIMSELF. Vidal was on the radar and Ferguson opted for RVP.
BALE was on radar yet he still persisted for a 30 year old striker.

Mal Glazer never called the shots at United POST 2005 it was Ferguson's ego that called the shots.

Berbatov - 30 Million transfer deadline day
Anderson 20 Million
Nani 18 Million
Hargreave 18 Million
Tevez 100,000 a WEEK in wages

you missed Ronaldo for 18m and Carrick for 18m.

He got some transfers wrong but got most of them right, He also dedicated his life to serve united and fought off mega million clubs to win 5 out of the last seven PL titles. but hey, dont let the facts get in the way of your hatred for the man

Not denying him that SON, all I'm saying is that United should not be in the state and POSITION their in at present.
What was WRONG with promoting his assistants as his replacement??? I'd place a bet on saying United would be top3 if Phelan and Rena were in charge.

I expected United to be in DECLINE once Fergie left but never like this.

posted on 2/3/14

Rene Nearly took Fulham down and Phelan is still jobless. They are great coaching staff but never managerial material. United job is for an experience manager who has managed and won titles with big clubs. Hopefully someone of that caliber will take over soon

In business, you hire from OUTSIDE ONLY when you have the BEST candidate there in possible. Otherwise you promote within the organisation.
You missed out on your outstanding candidate in Mourinho or Hitzfeld. Yet you never promoted within????? Strange!!!

picking moyes is strange/bad decision. there was lots of love between SAF and Jose just before SAF announce his retirement. I think SAF wanted Jose to take over but Sir Bobby was against it. We will never know the full story.

RvP carried United and their mediocre midfield and aging side to the title last season

he's been out injured this season and we're seeing the real strength in depth

whether Fergie retired or not this was coming

the 5-5 on the last day of the season was an omen

Not sure about that analysis there son.
United, with players of that winning calibre would not be struggling, those players are just too used to WINNING.
The BOND has gone with those WINNING players and Moyes. It really is as simple as that.

posted on 2/3/14

not really, we still have fully fit Rooney, Kagawa, Januzaj, Carrick and Vidic. We also spend 70m this season. Only deluded Moyes fans thinks any other manager coulnt get top four with our squad plus 70m spend.

the 5-5 on the last day of the season was just a team who already won the title becoming complacent and getting ready for the summer vacation

and at current age and ability only Rooney qualifies as a proper top player
