I think it's an absolutely awful idea.
If it's not working, it's not working and clubs should be able to get rid. Poor Southampton would probably have got relegated last season if they weren't able to change manager.

God no.
Imagine if we were forced to keep the Hodge for a whole season
But wouldn't it give managers a bit of protectin? At the moment they're the ones that takeall the blame if the team has a poor spell, and get sacked whether they're doing wlel or not. I thought Adkins was doing a goood job last year before getting sacked
Can see the logic behind it, but if you've got a team underperforming massively in march to the point everyone knows full well the manager will be getting the boot in the summer, the players will just down tools knowing that he's got no real authority anymore. Could also cause anarchy in the dressing room.

True. Imagine if we'd been relegated
On the other hand wouldn't it make it more interesting if a big club could get relegated? It would force the players to actually play for the cause rather than sulk and get a manager sacked...
They should only be able to change their manager, during the transfer window.
I'm shocked that Carra, who endured the Hodgson torture, would think this a good idea. I see the merits of the idea but the flaws are more prominent. It's a no from me.
Imagine di canio at Sunderland the whole season. Think the PFA would have had more to worry about than pardew's headbutt.....
Stupid idea from a stupid individual.

they werent in a bad position when adkins left...

Imagine the excitement you might have had in the playoff race in the Championship though.
What about if it was a 12 month period and not a calendar season? Could change manager mid season but would have to be a more thought out choice as you'd be stuck with them beyond summer
If a manager was unfortunate enough to pass away <>
Would they still have to keep him propped up on the bench ?
I think Jamie carragher should stick to subjects like "how to nobble opposing players"
Thank fack this idea isn't real, don't think I could have taken another game with avb in charge
In theory, this idea would stop the ridiculous sackings like Clarke, McKay etc.
But, could you imagine a whole season of Di Canio?
This wouldn't work.
No thanks
Roman will get bored and will move to IPL
It would be a stupid idea. Football clubs are huge business and the manager is an integral part of that business - why should a company not be able to fire a member of staff if their performance is directly endangering the company's future, e.g. poor performance possibly leading to relegation or similar? All that will happen is that managers would be put on gardening leave but retainer with the club, and a new de facto manager would be hired as 'first team coach' and assume those responsibilities.
See the logic behind it but maybe they should be allowed 1 change in the season and that's it. That way it would make owners think long and hard before sacking managers and also mean they'd spend more time making sure the new manager is the right man for the job.

someone get this guy a sticker.
Carragher has headed too many opposing players boots in the past obviously.
What will the cretin come up with next, loaning managers to other teams during the season?
Also think that it would get rid of 'interim managers', which in itself would stop managers being sacked if there's no replacement available
Awful idea, so club is only allowed one mistake per season in hiring the wrong manager but the manager can make as many mistakes as he like without any repercussions for an entire season. Somehow that is fair
Carragher is one of better pundits, Its strange to see him come out with such rubbish
