Yeah because arsenal paid for ozil with penny chews and a Freddo

Yes but we saved up for years to have the right amount of penny chews to get Ozil

Because if you don't win the league, you've effectively just achieved the same objective. CL football for next season. So it passes on the trophies. You have a CóC cup. Let's see what happens to the FA Cup.
********************************************************
So if a team finishes 4th in the PL but is 20 points behind 3rd place but wins the COC or FA Cup, they've had a better season? How the fack do you explain that one?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you finish 4th, you don't qualify for automatic CL football, do you sweet cheeks?
I think it more comes down to what you/others expected from your club.
At the start of the season, we was down to finish 6th or 7th with no trophies. Man C 1st,with possibly all the cups too. It depends what you expected from your club at the start of the season.
Surely then the team that has had the most successful this season considering media/fans expectations, money spent on transfers (small compared to other clubs), etc has been Liverpool?
The whole argument is completely devoid when you can suggest that finishing third with a trophy is the same as finishing second with a trophy
Tell you what ring up the IOC because silver and bronze must be the same

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps. But i still think the most successful English team, this season, if all goes to plan will be Chelsea.
Relatively modest (considering what they have spent in the past) transfer activity, yet won the league title away from the City big spenders.
At the start of the season, we was down to finish 6th or 7th with no trophies.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Im pretty sure no one thought Arsenal would finish as low as 6th or 7th, bar stupid spurs fans.

That is assuming that one trophy is equal to another. It's like comparing the CL trophy with the FA Cup trophy and calling it equal.
In terms of achievement order, for me: PL > CL > Top 3 > FA Cup > 4th Place > League Cup. Naturally, top isn't a trophy, but it is coveted by the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, United, Tottenham and Everton.
Everyone is forgetting United’s decline this season. If United’s form was as good as last season, rather than Liverpool and Arsenal strolling to CL qualification, they would have been battling it out for 4th with one of them (probably Arsenal) losing out.

Well if Man Utd win the CL (humour me)and finish 6th and City finish 2nd with the League Cup. I would say Utd had a more successful season.

Well firstly this is exactly what i hope happens. And if it does, i can assure you that the feeling down at the Etihad would be a lot more sour than over at North London.

No one said it would be a failure. Far from it. I'm only saying that that the general consensus would be that Arsenal have had a more successful season, if we finished with a FA Cup and 3rd, considering all the circumstances.
AFC you don't mind paying extortionate match prices. Jesus must be rolling in it!!
Considering what circumstances. When you bought ozil for a record fee and sat pretty at the top of the league you were favs. And you lot on social media talk sport newspaper collumns were saying the same. Now because that isn't happening its "well at the start of the season no made us favs so were not"

We have NEVER been the favorites, even when we were top, every pundit was asked every week,'can AFC win the title' answered with a resounding NO from all corners.
