Amazing isn't it, as soon as Ronnie leaves the building this or any other board dies! Snooker. .. a one man sport.
That's the way it usually is I'm afraid! Hawkins leads the final 3-0 against Greene.

Probably because it's Saturday. A lot more people are on the thread for the Worlds on weekdays because there's no football on.
How can the winner of the current PTC tournament get £100,000 ad the winner of next week's China Open only get £85,000? Don't get that.
Yes they're both ranking events but they play a lot more frames next week and more rounds. Can anyone justify the reasoning behind the prize money there?
I don't think Ronnie would have beaten Hawkins anyway tbh. I was going to have a sneaky bet on h'm at the start. Impressive, and a good contender for the WC again.
Yes a good contender, he played really well last year and played well at the Welsh Open. ... until he met the main man.
So we get under way in a few hours time, 2:30am Monday morning the matches start.
Looks like Maguire has joined Bingham as an absentee in the Far East, Dave Harold getting a walkover against the Scot.
Predictions for a tournament winner?
Looking at the draw, I'm gonna go for Allen.

Ken Doherty lost 5-0 to Thepchaiya Un-Nooh. Didn't that Thai beat Ronnie not so long ago?

No. It's another example of how the powers that be haven't got a clue how to assign proper rank points / money to venues. It's not brain surgery, and the rank system should have been fixed within 3 months of Barry Hearn coming to power.
I was watching Jimmy White yesterday, what has he come to, the occasional good shot, and break of 30ish, then an easy miss, every frame the same, If he had been playing a decent player he woudl have lost easily, Jimmy says that he still plays as his dream is to win the World Championship ! seniors perhaps , but come on Jimmy, your candle went out years ago .

Yes he got a 60, broke down and could have lost that first frame, he's been feeling the pressure for 20 years now ! Perhaps I am spoiled by Ronnie's very high standard. ? Back in the day I was Jimmy's biggest fan.

It's stupid they're trying to make the game huge in China yet there's a prize money offer like that? Can't get my head around it. Has that changed since Hearn came in or was it always like that?
Day off for me tomorrow so hopefully catch some of the action in the early morning. Robbo and Higgins both playing and Murphy - anyone know who's live on Eurosport?
Jimmy White blew his big chances by boozing, partying, and all round neglect during his prime. Any chance he had of winning more in his later years was nullified by extreme bad lifestyle choices, including a terrible diet and lack of exercise.
And it's a crying shame.
Biggest flop in a World final = Jimmy White.
Ding being given a run for his money today.
Robbo v Yu Delu could be a good watch tomorrow morning.
Guys, we are up and running!
