So, what do you think we need to do this summer to move forward? How can Wenger's tactical failings against the top sides be overcome? What gives you faith we'll spend this summer when the same stuff about 'money being available' was said last summer, as you'll recall with the Suarez, Fabregas etc speculation, even though we got Ozil we all thought we'd get more.

Even though these questions appear antagonising, I'm being genuine here, I'd love to hear your responses.

To answer the article, I think the reason we want top four is that it seems likely players like Ozil, Ramsey, Koscielny etc won't stick around if we finish fifth, making reestablishing ourselves up there that bit harder.

Sign a new defensive midfielder and striker. Both have to be elite. Add a pacy back up striker and winger

By our players developing and signing quality players. Also medical and fitness staff need to be looked at and replaced. Walcott and Ramsey have been huge misses in big games. Top teams can press us as they know without Walcott and Giroud up front we cant punish them

Rome wasnt built in a day. Will take time. Chelsea themselves failed to get the striker they badly needed. Wenger will get it right have faith.

there is no real reason to be in the CL.

We can't win it.

We won't buy players which will take us closer to winning it or the PL.

We had a chance last a summer and Arsene sat on his hands with free transfers until ozil on the last day.

Lo and Behold the 42M signing, has not made a difference in the league because of various reasons including Arsene still has the same approach to medicine and thus half our attackers are out.

So please even if we make it, don't get over excited, Arsene is still in charge, we'll only buy 1-2 quality players lol, players will get injured, although Sanogo might be able to connect with the ball when it matters.

Apparently we have offered Sagna a 3 year contract. Hopefully he stays. Drmic who we are rumoured to be signing looks a great talent. Would be good back up to a elite striker. I honestly dont think we are that far away.

An overwhelming amount depends on the FA Cup being successful, I think. Winning it would spur us on for next season, and may even be the decisive factor in persuading the likes of Kos, who said he'd leave last summer if it didn't look like we were moving forward, to stay.

Failure to win that and I think the atmosphere would be too poisonous Wenger's position would seem untenable

We don't need a rebuilding job, we're not as far away as some are making out. in fact we are really close imo. We have so many young players who will get better every season and a top striker will transform us completely. injuries have destroyed our title challenge, the league is too intense to play the 2nd half of the season with so many injuries. it's not even that our squad is light but our injury list is crippling, our midfield got decimated. we could have signed in January but the quality of players available is not good enough, we will spend big in the summer no doubt.

Such irony. All the people blindly crying for a trophy because the Sun told them to want a trophy....its funny to see them act like hypocrites if we finish out of top 4 but win this coveted trophy that no one will give a chit about in a few months time

Total BS. I'll be at Wembley on Saturday, you think if we win I'm gonna be thinking "YAY, maybe the newspapers will stop having a go at us!". Fúck off. I'll be happy because they're the fúcking Arsenal, and like all of you, I live for the glory moments of supporting this beautiful club.

I actually agree with this article, I think it is 100% spot on and it's kind of how I feel about top 4.

But how I feel and how the top players feel is entirely different. If we want to attract the best, then we have to play vs the best. There is a reason Suarez wanted to join us in the Summer. Doubt he wants to join us now, though.

The point is we would have been close this season if we'd had one or two more.

This summer will see the departure of Sagna, Fabianski, Bendtner and probably one of Pod or Vermaelen, as well as maybe one or two more key players if we finish fifth. So even if it appears we're not that far away now, it's going to be a couple more steps back come the end of June, especially when you consider that Liverpool, Chelsea, City will all strengthen too.

Wenger would have to go can't see how he could stay after that. He needs to prove he can deliver when is matters under pressure which is why it's all about the FA Cup and I don't give a crap about the league.

Godfather, the irony is people like you have always ridicules the domestic cups but will claim Wenger is some sort of god should we get past the might of Wigan, Hull and Sheffield United to win the cup - even if we don't finish top 4.

Fact is we should be finishing top 4 and winning cups on a regular basis. Not either or. Both.
