A transfer embargo could be a mini disaster for not only City and PSG but also some teams who need to sell their assets to the highest bidder to finance their own summer rebuilding.
Less money in the market, less competition for signatures at the higher levels all hurts the 'smaller clubs'.
To take 3 big spenders, inc Barca, out of the market
More likely it will just be a fine from the wallet of the billionaire owners
No doubt it'll just be a fine for the clubs with unlimited funds.... the money going directly to the pockets of various UEFA big wigs

No of course not, just like FIFA aren't
Have City and PSG failed FFP?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there even a shred of doubt?
Of course they have failed it. The whole world knows they have. It's the only way those clubs can compete though at the very top.
The "sponorship" deals that both clubs have are as dodgy as hell.
If FFP works........city are fooked.
If anyone thinks that uefa are gonna ban or anything close to that with clubs that have players like aguero, toure, inbrahimovich and cavani with all their commercial appeal they are barking up the non correct tree.
it'll be a fine... which makes the whole FFP thing pointless
FFP Is pointless to begin with.
FFP was always going to be a joke...fining an already mega rich club makes no sense and is not a deterrent
Hopefully City will get away with it. With just a slap on the wrist imo. Never liked the idea that footballs governing body has made moves to limit investment into it. What industry does that? In any case, a strong City team means another strong domestic side, as well as very strong local rivals for United. Manchester United don't need others to be handicapped for us to be successful, and never have. We should aim to rise to the challenge and conquer it. Liverpool this season are a shining example of how team spirit, relentless hard work, belief in each other and faith in your manager and his methods can see you compete and beat galactico style teams.
It's also worth noting that Manchester United bring in far more money than any other club in England, and almost every year in the world as well. Only Real Madrid rival us in that regard, so if United want to buy lots of players one summer, we can.

They won't be banned from the CL, no. Not for a first offence.
But it could start with a heavy fine or even a transfer embargo and then if they don't get their finances in order, they might be banned further down the line.
It's a start at least. And Chelsea have shown that FFP is very real.

Well see. I dont think its gonna do anything tbh. i wouldnt exactly be bricking it if i were a city fan.
why would they have spent millions and all this time developing the FFP if they weren't going to follow through With it?
Apparently United, Bayern, Chelsea and a few other clubs from the Elite group have asked for stricter punishments and tighter regulations.
Agent David Gill to the rescue.
Stretford_Ender85
The punishments/investigations are being conducted by an independent control body so that when/if sanctions are implemented there is no recourse to UEFA.
City may pass but PSG are fooked.

If course they will. Why wouldn't they. If they can pass the strictest tests, why shouldn't they want them. Crippling your competition is a great strategy for success in any walk of life. After all, these are huge heartless corporations that we love and support, if they can get a stranglehold on their market, they'll want to do it. Financial Fair Play didn't come from the clubs, in came from the governing body, just the same as business laws come from governments, not businesses. If these footballing giants can use the regulations to strengthen their position, they'll do it. Limiting investment and calling it "financial fair play" is a bastardisation and down right travesty in terms of what really is fair and what isn't.

Have you read the FFP and club licensing document? It would appear that you have not.
I have. I know it well. If you want to make a point, make it, instead of being vague and trying to cast doubt on my post without actually saying anything please.

How can encouraging clubs to live within their means, and balance their books be a “travesty” or a “bastardisation” of impartiality?
Wasn't City's sponsorship with Etihad deemed fair value anyway?
I'd be surprised if much comes of this. PSG's seems a little bit different as those figures are ridiculous.
Wasn't City's sponsorship with Etihad deemed fair value anyway?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
No, it was never announced as far as I'm aware.
And how can it be deemed fair when their owner has vested interest in that company anyway?
It's a load of bolllllox basically. Clubs sponsorhips should be independant of links to the club.
Ooh, if PSG get banned may we please get Matuidi? Or Verrati?
You're right, I agree with clubs being encouraged to live within their means. Just like a business should. But what FFP does, in a nutshell, is protect clubs by blocking major investment for growth. How can say, Huddersfield Town, ever hope to grow to a club that can compete at the top of football, without major investment? Just because it seems far fetched and impossible for them to do so, doesn't mean it could never have happened. I could have made billions, bought Huddersfield + made them into a super club over time with my own money. With FFP, Huddersfield are doom to mediocrity, and thoug protected from ping under, it is still very possible, seeing as how FFP will draw players and money even more so away from smaller clubs to the current super clubs and talent will be hovered up and tossed away more than ever before.
50% protected from going under,
100% doomed to mediocrity. FFP destroys footballs free market and investment potential.
