no, ita a team effort, yoy say that like we dont have the 2nd top scorer aswell..
suarez is the best player ever if hes the only reason.
Liverpool players that could make team of the season.
Skrtel
Gerrard
Henderson
Coutinho
Sterling
Suarez
Sturridge
could tony hibbert have moved to the top clubs in europe?
people say it because gerrard stayed when he could have left for more titles... obvious isnt it..

French mate, you can't really believe we're an average team except for Suarez can you lad?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Average was a poor word to use. Youre still a very good team. I simply meant that he's the difference. He's the best player in the league by a distance in my opinion and he is doing for you what Ronaldo did for us. I remember watching us dominate the league with Ronaldo, but we never looked the same without him when he was injured/suspended. We were still a very good team but he made us exceptional. Liverpool have been a joy to watch this season and Sturridge is benefitting from playing with the best striker in the world.
Just to clear something up about medals. In 1966 Jimmy Greaves didn't get a world cup medal because he missed the final.
In 1968, Denis Law didn't get a European Cup medal because he missed the final.
These days, everyone from the manager down to the cook get a medal.
Does Mrs Baker really deserve her medal more than (for example) Leo Messi (who could end up with nothing), purely because she peeled the potatoes at Real Madrid rather than slicing the cucumbers at Barcelona?

You only have the 8th best defence (GA) in the league and you think Skrtel should be in the team of the year?
Not read all the replies but it's not the media. Loads of people I've met say the same thing, loads of people say the same on here, and the fact is people would like to see an England player that has over 100 caps, has been a one club man and has entertained in the league for many years win the league.
The only thing I don't understand is why it's only fans of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd on here alone that don't want him to win it.
Maybe you could answer me that OP?

Probably your best article.
And in his career is it not only Chelsea who have put in a bid for him? Not many opportunities for him to jump ship.
"people would like to see an England player that has over 100 caps, has been a one club man and has entertained in the league for many years win the league."
I think therein lies the problem. He's being hailed as an English hero. We have produced some shocking national teams, and he's been (apparently) one of the best of a bad bunch down the years, so we are recognising him as some sort of national figurehead.
The truth is (and he admits this himself) he is useless for England, and when we really needed him, he bottled it.
The fact he plays for a club that won four European Cups in the 70s and 80s is just adding to the romance. As if Liveprool are England's great hope once again. You'll find that this is the reason United Arsenal Chelsea (and other teams that represent our country in Europe) cannot stand the man.

"Robson had his league title handed to him with a few cameo appearances here and there but Gerrard lead by example, scored vital goals and made plenty of assists and chances."
I think Robbo's leading ability was why they kept him in the team. We hadn't won the league for 26 yrs, so they certainly didn't include him in the line-up to make up the numbers as a gesture. We needed our best players out there. He still had a lot to offer, even at that age.
As a sub-point, Gerrard is not even fit to tie Robson's laces. It's not even a contest.
So if people are saying that the media were over-the-top with Robson, a genuine legend (and not just in his own city), that just fuels the argument against the constant drivel around Gerrard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In the 92/93 season when United won there first title Robson only made 5 starts hence league title handed to him
93/94 he only made 10 starts. The Gerrard and Robson comparison does not even compare.
One player (still a IF) will have won the league title on the pitch while the other won it while sat on the bench as a cheer leader

Either you're being disingenuous or you don't really know what you're talking about and I can't work out which.
Gerrard obviously could have and probably should have won more by leaving Liverpool. However, you cant criticise him for staying at his boyhood club. He still has a lot of medals and has represented england at half a dozen tournaments. Hardly had an unsuccessful career. Football would be a better sport if there were more Gerrards, Scholes' s, Giggs' s and Carragher's in the game.
You only have the 8th best defence (GA) in the league and you think Skrtel should be in the team of the year?

Yes, he's been fantastic!
Just because the other 3 defenders have been injured and made up of a young lad finding his way in a different position and the worst leftback I've ever seen!
Skrtel has been superb!

Matt Le Tissier had wonderful loyalty and talent. Did he deserve a league medal?
Gazza was one of the most talented players England ever had, did he deserve a league medal?
probably yeah.. dont get your point..

That's good. Hopefully Giggs will stay on as a cheerleader.
Does Daniele De Rossi deserve to win a league title?
I don't mind if its Liverpool or Man C, just not Chelsea. Especially poignant if Liverpool win in 25th Anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy
