I quite agree , players that don't want to play for there club but are happy to still pick up there pay packet ,and refuse to go out on loan should take a long hard look in the mirror ,you have to give credit to the likes of Andrews at least he was prepared to play elsewhere .
But Dougie still has to stop tinkering, and playing one striker up front at home.
If he wants the fans on his side, his tactics and team selections have to improve,he as lost us quite a few points this season.

So he also has to prove himself.

I agree, we don't need players who don't want to work with the manager. The problem I have is that I don't believe Dougie, can do the job of getting us promoted.

Burnley did it with less players and less cash, Crystal Palace did it last season. What you need is a good manager who will play his best team week in and week out excepting injuries or severe lack of form.

I won't be excepting any excuses from Dougie or any one else. He has to sign a decent striker, he says that is his top priority, so we will see if he gets that one right. He has to motivate the team and I believe he has to play 4-4-2 with players who can get the best out of that formation.

Will the Tinkerman be able to sort it? We will no doubt find out next season.

I think traditionally a team that's one goal away from the play offs and still receiving maximum parachute payments, should be challenging for the top six and not encountering their worse start to a season for 80+ years..

I hope that's a simple answer to a very simple question.

Thank you.

It's pressure time for Dougie next season. It'll be his second full season in charge and the squad'll be more his players and his philosophy. Get the right players in early - give them a decent pre-season and we may get somewhere. If we don't then out come the flaming pitchforks.

I'm also expecting a much, much better playing performance from Beckford next season. He's spoken about needing a good pre-season behind him so if he gets one then we have to expect nay DEMAND better.

Sack him
Yes we did expect to be promoted based on last seasons end. DF showed incapable of maintaining that or saying why he screwed up a winning formulae and spent the best part of the season trying to find another way of winning.

I don't understand the parachute payment argument. Although we may have received one of the highest parachute payments, it's quite clear that that money would not be invested in playing personnel, given that the club was making a loss and 170million in debt already.

You're surely not saying that the parachute money should've been invested in players? Especially when Freedman tried all summer to palm then off on someone else.

Also, I get the feeling Freedman can't really win at the moment. If he does well for a few months, people will be saying that he should have done this already and if he maintains good form, fans will put it down to a 'purple patch' and will be waiting for a drop in form so that they can moan about him again.

Who'd be a football manager eh? Especially one for Bolton Wanderers with fans like some of us.

That's not very nice, nuns, whoever you're talking about.

What's the parachute money gotta do with it?

Well TRR, it clearly allowed DF the option to bring in Baptiste, Tierney, Hall, Mortiz & Beckford for a lot of money...

Now take away your loans like Juke & Mason, and we are left with the squad that was fighting relegation, and with a lower budget to come...

I hope that adds the relevance to the parachute comment TRR....

Let's stick to facts eh....

Fair enough.

I don't know the figures of those players that were brought in, but you have a reasonable point. I can only think that now that Mears, Eagles and Knight have also gone, we just be in a better financial (wages wise) position now than we were when he came in. That's what my perhaps blind optimism is based on.

I'm just hoping that DF brings in the players he wants now and has a good full season to go for it. If it hasn't worked by this time next year, then fine, he'll struggle to keep his job, but that'll put us another 2 years down the line with a new manager building his own team again.

Think DF will definitely get another full season, maybe more.

Nuns,

Be nice if you gave me a chance. We're all grown up's here. Let's not start off on the wrong foot already, eh?

yes i for one thought we would finish in the playoffs after just missing out last season and when we was one of bookies and pundits pick to win promotion then yes i was expecting better. i know the club has been run wrong by PG but DF has not helped he says he has players not giving 100% to the club and for him. Players who dont want to work for him well sorry DF over 50% are player you brought to the club so for me shows he makes poor decisions when it comes to bringing in players. OK his loan signings have worked lets hope we can sign Juke to add to Danns but i also hope they will give there heart and 100% next season and have not played well to show off in the shop window just to get a move from there old clubs like players in the past.

I can't blame the players for not taking to dougie,as fans we can't take to him.He changes his team that often, the player's don't even know we're they stand from one game to the next.He will put us in a relegation scrap believe me.

posted on 6/5/14

agree nuns if the 50% of the players he brought in dont want to play for him knowing they have no faith in DF. new players he trys to sign next season will know this and will not want to come to us knowing they will not be given regular football or what formation they will be playing because DF dose not know it.

Please contribute to the whip for DF's birthday present.

This year we hope to provide him with concrete boots to wear during single ticket trip on the I.O.M steam packet ferry.
We are sunk with him in charge so it's only fair he shows us he can sink as well.

Dougie as already stated that any loan players returning to Bolton would have to except the rotating system ,so he isn't learning,he can be as stubborn as Mugson in some things, which is a worry.
Just how can the fans get through to him ?
And how can he prove to us it works.
The only way he can prove it to me is PROMOTION
Nothing less should be tolerated by the club .
I expect a top 3 place from the start of next season and from march next year 2015 nothing less than a top 2 position till the end of the season .
Anything less and he should be sacked.
So no pressure. Dougie.

Dougie also said he had already sourced the players he wanted for next season.
How long do the fans have to wait before we know who they are.
