"he was really naive to tell Gerrard to slip on the halfway line when Chelsea had 10 men behind the ball."
bad brendan
I still can't believe he did that
RODGERS OUT!!

FSG out for hiring Brendan
me out for supporting FSG in hiring Brendan
me
bad TKT!
Tactically naive Rodgers finishing above Tactical genius Mourinho, despite spending less money on a team that finished 7th, compared to more money on a team that finished 3rd.
What a disaster from Rodgers
Well done City, looking down on the pool, but it is all about the reds and Brendy....................and poor Stevie G falling about on his erse.
Throwing away a 3-0 lead and conceding so many goals,is not the stuff of camps, and Chelsea just keep spanking you guys.
Brendy is the king.
"Throwing away a 3-0 lead "
the league was over already
our only chance was goal difference
Don't let it effing slip!!
Kaiser
The league was still on today for City and Liverpool...........perhaps there is a loser mentality with some of yeez?
You never knew what would happen at the City game.
Did you let palace score?
Weird attitude, from a club whose fans thought they had won it after beating City at home.
There is certainly a loser mentality with you.
it was all wishful thinking
we needed a result against Chelsea and didn't get it. we conceded due to a freak occurence and our (realistic) hopes were dashed.
I've been pretty calm about it for weeks now as it was really over. the palace result didn't really bother me at the time and doesn't now. It was an irrelevant match at the end of the day.
I'm over the moon about the season. We could have nicked it when Chelsea imploded and City were 50/50 favourites with us but it didn't happen.
At the end of the day the best team in the league won it and we finished the season with 12 wins, a draw and a loss out of 14 and Suarez and Sturridge were dogshiite bad over that period. The others were the one's winning matches.
I'm good

In the whole scheme of things that game is pointless. If you want to talk about any game where we lost it, it's Chelsea. And to be fair, losing to Chelsea is not shameful.

Very philosophical,as we do when our teams lose.
I do it all the time, too.

No game in the run in is pointless when you can still win the league.
2 years ago,City maybe thought they had lost it v QPR,but they kept oing to the very end...........perhaps Liverpool gave up too early, after some scousers had it won too soon?

Don't get me wrong, no game is pointless but that result was pointless in hindsight. At that stage even if we'd won 3-0 Man city would have won the league.
Before the Chelsea game we had it in our hands. After losing that Man City had it in their's. The Chelsea game as where we lost it.

The defence isn't to blame, I think if you see what would have happened had Saurez not been missing for the first part of the season I think pool would have won it by a good few points
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Suarez was missing for 6 games
We managed 13 points out of a possible 18, so it's not as clear cut as you're making.
Only a blind person would suggest it's NOT our defence that's the problem. We conceded 50 goals.
In the top 11, only Spurs, Stoke & Newcastle have conceded more
the opposing fans that think Brendan has only one way to set up, haven't watched Liverpool play this year.
if I was a Chelsea fan I'd be embarrassed by the way my manager had bottled the league and did worse than the interim manager of the year before.
Jose and Chelsea have messed up,being unable to score against some so called weaker teams, but such is football, when Drogba goes, and we loan Lukaku........without replacing the goal machine.
Chelsea need strikers..........end of,but we stopped the pool winning it,so well done city.
blue, do you think lukaku will be in the team next year, and will you keep torres.
I think people are overstating 'it's the defence'
we won plenty of matches 3-2. 4-3, 5-3 and even 6-3
Did a 1-0 loss to Southampton and 1-1 draw with west brom cost us because we didn't have enough firepower?
our defence didn't cost us a title, we conceded mountains of goals in high scoring wins as much as anything IMO
You can't argue with the statistics - we conceded too many and it was a factor.
Seventh to second, though, is still some achievement and we were 33-1 for the title at the start of the season.
Securing Champions League football?
That was our target! Successful season in my book whatever anyone says.
"You can't argue with the statistics "
I just did
we didn't conced too many
we conceded a lot and just scored more - our defence was rarely a factor in results if you look through the results
^it was certainly a contributory factor and we did concede some bad goals at times. We all know the defence needs strengthening but it wasn't the only reason the title slipped away from us this season.
If I could go back in time to try and change the outcome of this season with £20 million to sign one player.....it would never in a million years be a defender
because what we really needed more than anything was someone much better than Moses to come on and get us a winning goal.
