I do think they should look at something.

Getting rid of internationals during the season could shorten the league season but still allow for the odd break.

Then play all internationals in the off season. It would benefit international football too as teams spending longer together at once should benefit cohesion, shape and performance, making it a better game.

I'm surprised they aren't looking at addressing it as it could benefit both types of football, as well as players fitness.

Playing at season end would probably result in very little time off for the players, wouldn't it?

I wonder if supporters of teams in leagues outside of England feel the same way about the international break.

Certainly I miss Liverpool, but take great pride in seeing the irish play their games.

There's only 4 international breaks during a season. I'm not sure it would work out....lets break it down.

Lets say the season ends in April instead of May.

That would leave May, June and July to squeeze in an international training camp and (in europe's case) 10 qualifiers (playoffs too?), player vacation, then preseason games and training.

Liverpool started preseason matches some time in early to mid July, so if we just say July has the players back at their clubs that leaves may and june, maybe 9 weeks to train for and play 10 games and then give a vacation.

2 week training camp and 2 weeks vacation? So we are looking at 10 games in a 5 week period?

I think that's a lot to ask.

Hate how much people complain about International breaks, just get over it. It works completely fine.

You are forgetting that qualifying last 2 years, not 1, so it would only be 5 games at the end of the season, plus a couple of friendlies possibly.

Perfect preparation for a summer tournament to play these games over the course of a month.

No, one summer you'd have to qualify, then the next summer is the tournament.

Unless it's half the qualifying plus the tournament in the same summer, which seems even more taxing
