What’s the context though? Was he asked if he’d want to win a Ballon Dor, and he answered yes in return? I would imagine every single footballer would say the same. Was it a reporter pointedly asking that question in order to whip people like you into a frenzy?

He’s got zero chance wherever he is. No way a RB wins it.

He’s also not on the same level as the likely contenders for the next 10 years. At this point I sort of hope he goes in summer I’m a little bored of the saga.

Doesn't matter about context. He needs to read the room. If he was committed then we would say great ambition but in a few weeks he could sign for RM.

Last week he was talking about trophies and maybe not winning any more etc.

If this is him trying to explain why he’s going to Madrid then that’s on him and I suspect he’ll regret saying it all, because it all looks very lame. And if it is the case then it can only mean he had no intention of ever signing a contract and has probably decided at least twelve months ago that he was going to Madrid.

IF that’s all true then he’ll have no legacy with Liverpool fans.

Feels like Trent’s ego is getting a bit big for his boots lately. He’ll fit in nicely at Madrid.

It could also be a ploy to tell club to give him what he wants or he is off. His brother is his agent too and this probably his only payday living off his brother so no doubt Trent will want him rewarded too.
