Why not? not many saw Grav in the role either apparently, younger they are easier they are to influence and mould into what you want.

From the little I’ve seen he’s an out and out AM. I reckon he’d be utterly wasted further back.

Has anyone been watching Bajcetic? I've seen a few highlight reels a month or so ago and he seemed to be playing DM and getting forward occassionally, very similar to Gravenberch funnily enough.

I still reckon he comes back and takes Endo's place next year. For now though, I'd like to see Endo get minutes to protect Gravenberch a little.

Warnock also called our game against Leipzig shaky or something like that. Personally I feel we dominated the game though even then you never stop the opposition having a good period at some point completely. Weird standard to hold Liverpool to, against a pot 1 team away no less

Tbh I'm delighted that we're being so much cleverer in games. We cede possession and conserve energy, but in reality rarely look like we aren't in total control.

Always thought we were too gung ho under Klopp in the later seasons and desperately naive. We are much more city-like now. Won't be as entertaining but should (as I said before) reduce injuries and actually make us better title contenders.

I still am not convinved Grab is the answer in games where we are against the top opposition for example Arsenal, City, Real etc.

Grav and Mac is not going to have us going deep in the CL for example, we need another defensive minded player in there with them.

It's about options.

I think the role is important for slot to have someone comfortable on the ball, good on the half turn and can run with and beat players in the most congested area of the pitch. Not many DMs have that capability or skill set to do it.

You're partly right that given our midfield hasn't been majorly tested yet, and that's honestly why I'm looking forward to this game against Arsenal this Sunday.

But I also think you're underrating our midfield quite a lot. All three options have legs, they all do their defensive cover, they can all pass and withstand a press. Our worst critique this year is that Szob is being sloppy a few times - even then, our xG and goals conceded is the lowest. This is a serious midfield

Liverpool has always been about making the ball do the work, keep possession, pass and move to receive the ball again - always options available.

Our possession stats are 2nd in the league (3% behind City) and we're controlling the majority of games. Arguably we still need to sharpen up a bit on passing accuracy, especially under pressure, but this is 8 games into a refreshed style of play.

If anything it was Klopp who didn't play the Liverpool way, at times anyway. Although we were far less cavalier over his whole tenure than the current narrative seems to suggest.

Slot's presser going on right now. Sounds like the Chiesa and Bradley injuries aren't serious but Arsenal is probably too soon. Jota definitely out for Sunday, but back in training soon.

Jotas a huge miss we dont really press well without him.

Jota would have been great for this one. Nunez won't be as effective as I doubt we'll be doing much counter attacking.

Sometimes having a focal point for the attack is useful in occupying their CBs though. If we keep getting runners from midfield into the box then we should get chances.
