I mean he's not going to say he's staying or he's going when things are still up in the air. And he can't leave it until the end of the season before making that decision. So to me I think he's just fobbing them off.

A week ago VVD confirmed he’d opened contract negotiations. It’s all just smoke and mirrors at this point, probably voicing that he’s prepared to delay a decision to build the pressure a bit.

Personally I’m not reading anything into it. It’s just negotiating.

In that case we should start planning for a future without him as we can't be left hanging if he decides not to sign in the summer.

If he's waiting to see what other clubs are offering then he needs to be told that we will withdraw our offer at a certain point and he can try his luck with those clubs

We will have to pay VVD a signing on fee. Basically re sign him in the summer. Same thing probably applies to the other 2. Players and agents are not going to turn down £5m plus signing on fee at this stage.

Need to do what it takes to get him to stay. Hardly as if we have spent much on transfers the last few years is it.

I think we saw yesterday why last 2 seasons I could live with City winning the league. The Arsenal fan base is so cringe.

Tbh I am basically laying my hopes on the assumption that I get the feeling they are waiting to see what the club does in the Jan window before committing their last few years as players to us.

I can't get that video of Jones joking about Dom being our new number 6 out of my head tbh...imagine what senior players like Van Dijk, Salah and Trent must be thinking.

They don't owe us anything tbh. We paid them world class salaries and they gave us world class careers, winning everything.

I said at the beginning of the season, Arsenal might win it if Arteta doesn't crap himself in the big games. Looks like it's more of the same again this season

Arsenal fans are absolutely seething and it's great. Imagine the meltdown had we won.
