Think we'all definitely be looking to get him signed up to a new deal but there will be conditions on both sides.

we'll probably want him to increase from 2020 to 2022 giving him a pay rise and clarity with other top earners at the club on £120k a week.

It started pre season when he was saying how crap we are etc. Whatever it is he's doing it seems to be working as we're top of the league and Coutinho has been the best player in the league so far.

RAP is waaaay past midlife crisis territory.

Report in the Echo saying reports in Germany that we're going after Dahoud in Jan. He's been dropped because he won't sign a new contract or something.

We could do with an extra body at cm I reckon although he's one for the future. At £26m though who's place does he take. Massive squad at the moment so might mean Lucas on the way out.

I don't think the price will matter considering we had profit in the summer. I'd see him in Henderson's role so don't know how that would work out, but if we make cl next season there should be time for both, would be good to have him bedded in before then, if we don't buy him someone like city bayern or whoever will

It's a squad game these days and we need two for each position.

I see Dahoud, Hendo and Can as fighting it out for the two deeper midfield positions, with Grujic in reserve. Stewart would probably be sold as there would be no squad place for him realistically, unless Klopp wants him as can play in defence too so overall cover.

Wij would then be freed up to compete with Lallana for the more attacking midfield role.

6 players for 3 positions, exactly what you want really.

Don't see Lucas being affected by this one as he is centre half cover now.

Agree with R1. It's just a sign that we're trying to add real quality to the squad, whether it's as a starter or back up. For too many years we've been buying cheaper options as squad fillers, and they've not been able to step up when required. This is how we always end up with so much dead wood.

You also have to factor in that our end game is to be playing 60 games a season and competing on all fronts.

No way we can do that with the way we play without having a big squad.

We might not need Dahoud this season really, but we wouldn't be signing him for 5 months, and if he's available to us now then better to get deal done now than risk missing out.
