The fact he is up and down is why you keep playing him IMO.

He can come back up at any moment.

I don't think playing wide suits him, and I don't think he was that bad against Utd either.

I dont understand how one of the best players in our squad isnt sufficient, in your eyes, to accomodate for the other one of the best players in our squad but you want to move one of our other best players in our squad who's been in a red hot form in one position to the position of our other one of the best players in our squad position thus reducing the quality of 2 positions when we could only reduce the quality in one position.

Even if Klopp does move Lallana forward, it doesnt make it the right choice.

He was a good player before the injuries and mental issues but since Klopp has taken over he's been average at best.

He's had some opportunities of late and been terrible. He can't play the Mane role and I would play Firmino centrally over him.

He was our top scorer last season under Klopp.

Swansea at home could be the perfect game to get Origi back scoring.

Things change.

I doubt he will be top 4 this season.

That maybe so but to say he didn't perform under Klopp seems a bit weird if he was top scorer no?

Has Sturridge ever been a Liverpool player?

Not necessarily.

Benteke got 12 or something and I wouldn't say he performed well.

Sturridge will always get goals but we don't lack them.

Okay maye not 'necessarily' but he was playing well enough last season from January and that's a fact.

I agree he ended the season very well.

As has been the case with Sturridge for nearly 3 years though now, it's one step forward two back every time.

We all said Mane being away was his chance to stake a real claim. In his two starts since, playing as the number 9, he's been very poor.

Origi has been recently also, but unlike Sturridge he has a very good run of form only a month ago.

You have to go back 8 months for Sturridge, and that just keeps happening.

I've always thought Sturridge would head to Arsenal or Spurs if he left us.

If either of them came in with a good offer for him, I'd let him go there.

Sturridge isn't the player he once was. Devastating pace was his main asset and he's lost it. Still good enough technically to be a useful player but can't see it happening long term here.

Joel Matip has been cleared to play by FIFA, on official site.

I'm a big fan of Sturridge when on form, but this season he has looked consistently out of sorts.

I'm convinced he's gone this summer, which is fair enough really.

As for tomorrow, I can't see Sturridge starting the game. I reckon Origi will start with Coutinho and Firmino as WF's.

If Sturridge wants a CL level club his best bet is to go abroad.

A league with less demands on running and fitness will help him.

If he is adamant on staying in England, chances are he will have to drop down to a midtable club.

Great news on Matip

newcastle would be a great move for him!

A couple of stories saying that Sporting are considering cancelling Primarkovic's loan this month.

Well that went well didn't it

Terrible terrible result. That's right, double terrible.

Fair play to Swansea who played well but we never really got going. Scored two great goals and then threw it away.

It was reminiscent of last season really.

Some elements of a good team but not the full package.

Still think long term it will be Matip and A N other at the back. Lovren is a good player but is too erratic to start regularly IMO. Klavan has probably played more games in recent weeks than Klopp was hoping for.

Big positive was Firmino back to his best as the centre forward.

In typical Liverpool style we will probably go and beat Chelsea 3-0.

Our defence has been improving but we are still susceptible to conceding joke goals.

All their goals today came from joke defending. Reminded me of the Europa final, letting players run with the ball through midfield almost unchallenged all the way to our area and pressing but not being aggressive enough.
