Klopp talks about aggression and not being passive quite a lot in his interviews.

Maybe he will look to sign some toughness in the summer.

It's just so frustrating because we just needed to back up a good away point with a solid home win and all was Rosy again.

Instead, that happened.

On a positive, looks like we've gotten away with it, in the grand scheme of things. Only one point for United, City and Spurs.

Agreed. Hopefully klopp sorts out whatever is going on with the side atm though. Can't keep dropping points.

Hopefully Matip hits the ground running, would make a big difference.

Clyne clearly wasn't 100%, one of his worst games for us, and looks like Firmino might be coming back to form, at long last.

I am concerned that we've lost our fluidity going forward. Hopefully Coutinho will help that as he gets more match time.

The big worry for me is Sturridge and Origi. They're both playing extremely poorly at the moment, leaving us short of match winning options.

And all those predicting that Mane wouldn't be that big a miss, got it very wrong. The balance of the team is all over the place.

For sure term

I agree matip will make a big difference for us. TAA should have played over Clyne too, I was surprised to see him starting given he was touch and go.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing though.

For me Matip, Mane and Coutinho are very important in how we want to play the game.

I'm not sure the balance of the team being wrong is down to Mane missing.

Let's not forget we didn't beat Sunderland when Mane was on the pitch.

We seem to have a lot of players not looking sharp.

What I am hoping is that this is part of the fitness plan. It's impossible to stay totally sharp all through the season, there are peaks and troughs, and at the moment we seem to have a lot of players looking rusty at the same time, compared to September/October when they were collectively flying.

Managers and coaches have to manage the fitness through the season, hopefully this is our manage period and we will peak again in the last few months.

It's about managing results in that period where you are not all firing, and we have just about done that but obviously today was a big blow.

Still, we have rather got away with it with the other results today. Still all to play for really.

There's a serious lack of creativity in the centre of the pitch. Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum all go sideways or don't play a defence-splitting pass that can stretch teams. Lucas is the same if he plays.

Incredible how we can look pretty solid against Man Utd last week defensively yet today three shots all ended up in the back of the net. It starts from Lovren for the first goal. Under no pressure he inexplicably heads behind for a corner, and two touches later we are behind. Always difficult coming from behind no matter who the opposition.

Thus, we did it. Somehow. Then, instead of really piling forward against the team at the bottom we didn't go for it, and end up making Fer (I think it was who ran through, or Carroll?) look like Messi. Skips past four players and Sigurdsson is all alone to fire in the winner.

Teams are sitting back against us and we can't break them down. Massive task against Southampton, Wolves and Chelsea in the next three games.

For me, I didn't think we'd win the title, but that hope is gone now. The season could be all about top four if the Soton and Wolves games go against us. Big end to the month coming up.

Lovern is good with someone else putting a shift beside him.

But as a leader at Thea back he doesn't convince me, he's like Henchoz to your Hyypia.

So imo the moment if we don't either reinstate Sakho or sign a top class CB, then we kiss the Top 4 goodbye

Lovrens better than Sakho. Sakho was over rTed by a lot and seems to get better every week he's away from the team

Lovren does need a leader or rather a organiser beside him, but from what I've seen from Matip, he is that man.

He is an organiser as well as being a composed CB.

Sahko has burnt his bridges with the manager. He's a goner

I think its quite a stretch to put this down to Mane but it just sounds the convenient thing to say and people are running away with it.

Teams are packing the space infront of their box forcing us to go wide. A Swansea player said this after the game. However, despite being forced wide we still scored twice from the wings.

We have something about us and can adapt to many things including the absence of Mane. However, our long running issue is the defending and we were reminded of that today.

With good defending we'd have had 3 points.

I agree.

If you score twice at home you should win the game.

We are missing Mane, but he's not the reason we are not winning games.

We had chances to get a 2nd at Utd and missed them. We scored two at home against the bottom side and didn't win.

We just have too many players out of form at the same time. The midfield are not keeping the ball as well as we were, the attack hasn't been firing at all (at least Firmino will hopefully kick on again now). Clyne hasn't been playing well for a while, Klavan and Lovren are erratic as a pair.

We will come again, I have no doubt. Another big game on Wednesday and I think we will get through, though it won't be easy.

Bring Matip in for Raggy doll and we are 75% better.

Taking the pace, movement, dribbling ability and goals Mané provides out of the team has had a big effect imo.

However just as importantly, in his absence Lallana has been playing further forward upsetting the balance in midfield. Can, Wijnaldum and Henderson together offer a solid base, but lack that creative spark, especially when trying to break teams down.

One positive to come of this is that it has become quite clear where the weaknesses lie within the squad which Klopp can address in the summer. This is admittedly a bit next year is our year, but this season we have a real battle on now for the top four. One we can win, but the truth is we lack the depth of some of the squads we are battling. We have improved so much this season, I'm just unsure whether this improvement will carry us over the line in the league or the cups. I'm hopeful, but we need some luck with injuries fromantic now to through the rest of the season.

The result yesterday is exactly why our start was so important.

In years gone by we would have a had a result like yesterday but it would have come when we were already 6 pts behind the top 4.

As it is, yesterday's result really hasn't done that much damage, even if Chelsea and Arsenal win today.

I'm still confident we will end the season strongly. It would be typical of us to beat Chelsea, lose at Hull and beat Spurs in our next 3 league games.

Anfield atmosphere plays a big part in our performances. Early kick offs are the worst when we are not playing a top team. It will be the same at the Wolves game next Saturday. It will be like a morgue apart from the travelling Wolves fans and it's hard for the players to play in that when on a night game Anfield is alive.

Klopp has had digs about it in the past and had another yesterday, and he's right. It's not the fans fault that we lost but it doesn't help.

Losing a good player will obviously cause disruptions but what happened yesterday happens to us Mane or no Mane.

Primarkovic sent back

Been an unused substitute for last dozen Sporting games or so, hardly surprising really. What a terrible signing he's been.

Van Dijk hobbles off with an injury today so hopefully he misses Wednesday, definitely significantly our chances of progressing if he's out imo.
