You really think the 2 midfielders ahead of the 6 have exactly the same role? Its not really similar, coutinho has more freedom to attack, and i dont ever see leon being put on the wing, his qualities are not the same, cout would need to be replaced within someone who is actually creative like he is, meyer is more of the coutinho ilk IMO

I'm hearing reports that Liverpool have an agreement in place to sign Goretzka in January.
Anybody know if there is any truth in it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking promising. Bierhoff said he is heading to the premiership. Chelsea are also after him but Klopp is going to entice him with some German beer and the best Bratwursts in town
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Based on what is it looking promising?
Not a single reliable paper is reporting it. I may have missed something.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The fact he is coming to the premiership to me says it is promising. I did not say definite just promising.

Potentially but I've seen that he's chosen both Arsenal and Chelsea
The press just make stuff up.

As long as we get Goretzka on a free I'm not worried about losing Can.

According to Selby and Term you are not allowed to speculate. I would delete that comment if I was you.

When did I say that?
You weren’t speculating on the bit I mentioned, you were stating as fact. Then you contradicted yourself 👍

Clyne out until February
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disappointing but at least they have now dealt with what’s wrong with him and hopefully he can return to either play a part this season or be fully fit next season.
Personally I think it’s not been a bad thing for TAA and Gomez to get lots of game time. They need to have the opportunity to make mistakes to learn and improve.
I doubt Gomez would have been in the England squad this week if Clyne had been fit all season.

As much as I like Gomez, I can't believe Dunk wasn't called up over him, unless Southgate wanted to play Gomez as a right back with a potential utility man role in the world cup squad.
It’s all politics with England though isn’t it.
Players who have been through the youth teams always get picked.
Those that haven’t been in the system have to perform exceptionally well to get picked ahead of those that have, and usually don’t get called up until they have moved to a big club.
I agree with you re Dunk. Gomez can play though and Southgate wants ball playing defenders. Dunk has done well in a defensive team, rather like Keane last season for Burnley. Whether he would be exposed more in a team like England we would have to see.
Dunk can play a bit, he's not a clogger - he reminds me a little of Hyypia in that he's the brains of that partnership alongside Duffy. I can see the comparison with Keane but I'd like to see him in a better side - not entirely sure he'd leave Brighton though being a local lad.
Italy out of the World Cup. Didn’t think that would happen......
Probably the end of Buffon's international career too. Probably the last footballer I remember watching as a kid who is still playing. I'm getting old.
No Italy, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Netherlands, USA.
Lots of big names missing.

Norn iron should invite them all for a summer tournament.
Group A
NI
Italy
Cameroon
Chile
Group B
Holland
IC
Ghana
USA
Scotland can be the refs
Peru soon to be knocked out too
I’m surprised FIFA haven’t thought of that.
A World Cup B tournament, with the winners earning a place at the next World Cup.
Nah...One World Cup is enough...has that prestige.
If Napoli was made up of Italian players...Italy would've qualified.
I agree but FIFA are money hungry whores.
