lallana is the worst signing Brendan has made in my opinion.

I would currently class signing him as "Rodgers Carroll moment"

I seriously hopes he proves me wrong, doesn't fit our style of play, constantly loses possession, halts our attacks, takes too many touches when its unnecessary...

But he has an INSANE first touch! so its all okay

Ings at that price is a no brainer for me, im sure he realises he will be a rotation option. and as said above theoretically we can sell him for more next season if necessary, which gives us more money to invest back in to the squad

im a firm believer that skrtel is largely to blame for our defensive woes..

carra hyppia and agger all failed to form a solid partnership with him, but were all great alongside each other

As for marko I think hes an outstanding player, have you seen him play for his previous two clubs? cutting in off the left he is a force, when he signed in his first interview he stated "my best position is as a left attacker" and he was playing there when he scored one of his two prem goals this season vs spurs.

Its hardly weird to support a youngster new to the league, new to the country, still developing and being played out of position in a struggling team,

it is however justifiable to criticise a player who was more expensive, more experienced, has played in this league, and country all of his life and was accommodated in his preferred position even if it meant a change of style/shape.

Its not a weird support of markovic, he has been criminally misused, and its not a weird dislike of lallana, even when it hasn't been working with him in the team he has been criminally overused, rushed back from injury, shoehorned in..

Even in the final game he was played as a striker, instead of, you know, playing one of the strikers that were on the bench..

as a result everytime we got the ball away from our fragile defence we lost it and it came straight back at us

I blame it mostly on Rodgers tactics and what looks like his lack of understanding of how to press as a team...or maybe the players dont execute it properly. We'll never know really.

I think Marko is just as promising as anyone else, he just needs to find a strong position within the team, adapt to the league some more and have mentors/better players around him.

Lallana, jury still out! Prehaps see more on his 2nd season?

Involve.... Well that's no secret to a side of his game he needs to improve (BR).

But to blame Skrtel's defensive woes on all on BR, is harsh IMO!

Skrtel has always been inconsistent his whole career and you could argue that in out title charging season he showed his best form of his career

Marjorie has not been criminally misused. He's been given plenty of chances in his favoured position and shown next to nothing. He did an ok job at RWB, better than when as an attacking player, but not much. He's had a very poor first season, hopefully he will improve but I wouldn't stick any money on it. Likely to find himself quite far down the pecking order, will have to impress in the Europa games.

Yeah I get that, but Skrtel is our main CB is all Im saying.

I honestly think that Toure should've been used more, not the answer nooooo!! But could he of out performed any of our back 4? Probably

I think Majorie had about 3 good games all season.

He's a kid he might improve, but I expected better than he has shown so far and being young doesn't excuse every bad display.

He has only been played out of position a little bit.

Ibe is younger and showed more than Marjorie did, also playing out of position.

If Skrtel is clearly such a liability why is he still our most prominent defender three years into Rodgers reign? And after all the money we have spent on defenders.

skrtel: because he scores goals, sometimes big important goals and I assume Brendan hoped he would find him a partner where they could operate well in a two and he could still have skrtels goal threat on corners

Markovic and Ibe are too very different circumstances, for a start Ibe is getting to play on his favoured rather than weaker side, in the stoke game however he did play, and impress on the left, being his weaker side, however marko has had a few good games on the right, despite his preference (and better performances coming from the left)

Neo, markovic has never started a game for us in his favoured position (left attacker) and has only been moved to that position/subbed in to that position a whopping three times.. scoring in one of those outings.

so im not sure how/where you have seen him in his favoured position "plenty" of times, was it when he was tearing up the leagues for partizan or benfica? winning the league three times in his now four years as a pro footballer? getting in to his leagues team of the season?

Hes not become a bad player overnight, but the majority of his performances have been at RWB, rather than a left attacker, that's a MASSIVE change in position, and he can be forgiven for finding it difficult.

im not sure how you can call barely getting a run of games, or even many mminutes on the pitch a poor season, when only a fraction of those minutes are in the preferred position and he actually got a goal!

he was our biggest threat in the mauling by arsenal, even if he did over hit the pass to sterling

marko hating is bizarre, might as well hate ibe too, hes done less in terms of goals/assists and has been on his preferred side
